GMC was suggested for furnace repairs by ****** heating due to the owner of ****** having medical issues. ****** heating has always maintained my heating and cooling. The GMC technician arrived and disassembled the front of my furnace. He then stated it would be approximately $800.00 to repair my furnace. He stated the inducer motor needed replaced along with the collector box cover. ****** did the same repair a year earlier for less than $300.00. This was defiantly price gauging, taking advantage of a senior citizen. When the technician left to get parts I called GMC. I told them the price quoted was unacceptable and not to do the repair. After reperch on the internet I did the repair myself by tightening the screws. My furnace has run since without any problems. The approximate cost of the parts for GMC is less than $100.00. I received a bill for a service call. When the technician left my furnace was in pieces on the basement floor. As I stated I repaired the furnace myself for zero dollars.

We are very sorry this customer feels this way. However after talking to Brian, the service technician, we believe he did exactly what was appropriate on this call & will back him up 100%.
Prices go up every year & for the last two years we have experienced higher costs.
We are also happy to refund any bill from us to the customer.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
