Since acquiring my **** ***** ***** in February 2023, I have encountered persistent issues. Subsequent to the purchase, ******** ***** **** inspected the vehicle, revealing engine, head gasket, transmission, and coolant concerns. Despite forwarding the invoice to ********** **** ******, I was instructed to have the repairs conducted at **** **********, with a notable three-month waiting period. In November 2023, the engine of my vehicle failed, prompting me to have it towed to **** **********. Subsequently, the mechanic, Dan, recommended a complete engine replacement to address the multiple issues after expressing uncertainty about the repairs. Despite being initially informed that PFSC would not cover an engine replacement, a conversation with my account manager, Ms. Michelle, revealed a miscommunication within the organization regarding the repair process. Despite my consistent efforts to communicate the ongoing issues with my ***** *****, I have encountered significant challenges with **** ********** and ********** **** ****** in facilitating the necessary repairs. While awaiting a response from my account manager at PFSC, my vehicle was repossessed from the repair shop without prior notification. Despite multiple attempts to contact my account manager during the vehicle's stay at **** **********, my calls went unanswered. Additionally, my email inquiries concerning payments and repairs remained unaddressed. Subsequently, I received notices indicating that my vehicle was slated for sale without any subsequent communication from PFSC. Following engagement with another PFSC representative, I was assured that the situation was acknowledged as unjust, prompting the drafting of this correspondence. Ms. Christine also acknowledged the unfairness of my situation, considering my proactive efforts to address the issues. After a negative experience with the finance company, repair shop, and dealership, I was presented with the option of making a down payment on another vehicle. I seek clarity on the treatment I have received and anticipate a prompt resolution of these matters. Notably, my account contains detailed notes, and I believe my past calls are documented, supporting my account.

********** **** ****** includes a 1 year, 15,000 mile limited warranty with every vehicle purchase. This warranty covers major components such as engines and transmissions, etc.

Customer drove his car in excess of 15,000 miles in nine months. No evidence of any required maintenance such as oil changes was submitted by customer.

Customer failed to insure the vehicle, make payments on time and failed to cure his default contract per the regular and certified mailed sent to him.

Customer abandoned his car at a service center.

Portage financed a vehicle with a sub prime loan and a ******* device that disables the vehicle when a payment is late. When current with payments and less than $1500 balance remaining, the device failed, rendering the vehicle unusable. My mechanic would not remove it without permission which was denied. I lost wages, paid car service fees and was forced to purchase a second vehicle. Portage continued to deny permission to remove or replace.the device. The original vehicle was voluntarily surrendered. I was then charged $4000 additional. I am willing to pay the original amount owed on the vehicle only. I desire an adjustment of the charges.

After a brief look at the account, we cannot confirm any of these claims to be accurate. Could you please submit documentation supporting your balance amount? Also, could you please submit documentation relating to the no start condition of the vehicle? Thank you.

08/01/2021 , Pfcs (Jill K***,Melissa C*****) gave me nothing but trouble the entire time I had dealt with them. I was struggling due to COVID and I missed one payment and they ended up repossessing the car I was paying on. I fell in to a depression which I told them about , they wouldn’t answer the phone at Pfcs at all for me so I could explain. They would only communicate via Email which I have the conversation from the very beginning of my loan to the end where they repossessed the car. Even when I did make a payment , my car would shut off for the weekend until they opened back up Monday. That happened a few times. I only had a few more months to pay on it , and they had me pay $540 a month when my payment was only $415. This is still on my credit for $5,000 which is incorrect and I’ve tried to dispute it and it keeps getting denied. They ended up selling it for $2,000 but wanted me to pay over that to keep it. Something has to be done about this. This is incredibly sad and frustrating.

Portage Financial Services strives to achieve fully accurate report*** of credit. If anyone believes there is an inconsistency, they may reach out to the respective agency and follow the process for correction. A customer may also reach out to PFSC in writ*** for assistance. Attached to this response is a payment history summary, countless failed payment arrangements, bounced ACH payments, charged back credit card payments, and documents stat*** amounts past due after repo and total amounts owed after liquidation. These clearly demonstrate PFSC went above and beyond assist*** *** *****.
