Allgeier & Sons were to deliver a ton of gray slate for $245, but only delivered half the amount cheating us about $130. ***** called Mike the Owner who’s only willing to credit $42. Here are pics showing what was sent & what should have been sent. The driver told me 800lbs was delivered, had my *** grad do the math on the pic below & he got close, 905lbs, but we were supposed to get 2000lbs.

Myself and the Owner were out of town for business when all this went down and when we got back in town I reached out to the customer. After discussing with the customer what he felt was right I took that information and talked it over with the owner and we agreed to give the customer what he believed would be fair. The customer then kept asking for a bunch other information to which I tried to respond to the best I could without leaking our other customers personal information and told the customer what steps need to be take to fulfill his refund, I called several time with no answer and also texted multiple times and never got an answer. I did apologize for the experience and situation and tried to make things right.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

The business only offered $45 then later only $100 barely covering the delivery, still shorting me half the material and no delivery was needed for the little amount sent.  The amount of stone was only about $100 worth of material so the refund should be $165.  However this not does reflect the contractor I had on hand to help spread the rock who I paid $50/hour and lost two hours of his time due to not having the requested material.

I'd be willing to reduce this loss to $50 added to the $165 refund amount equals $215 is the amount that should be refunded back.

Thanks for your time and consideration in resolving this matter.

The customer filing the complaint contacted our business on April 11, 2024 inquiring about pricing for a Bobcat scoop of slate for pick up.  Our employee provided him with the price.  He then asked if he purchased several Bobcat scoops of the product would he be given a discount. It was explained by the employee that there would not be a discount just because he was purchasing multiple scoops.  He then inquired about having the desired material delivered to his home.  He was quoted the price for that purchase: $155 for 1 ton of slate and $90 delivery fee based on his location.  He placed the order for the 1 ton of slate to be delivered the next day, April 12.
Our driver delivered the 1 ton of slate as ordered on April 12. A copy of the computer generated ticket is attached for reference.  Our scale is certified each year accordance to requirements. The ticket clearly shows on the bottom left the Gross weight of the loaded truck, 16,500 lbs.  Then the Tare weight (empty truck weight), 14,500 lbs., which we are require to have for each of our delivery vehicles.  Below that is the Net weight (the weight of the material) which was 2,000lbs/1 ton. He did receive the amount material for which he ordered and paid. He signed the ticket to acknowledge the receipt of the material and process of payment.
As for the pictures, he submitted showing the different piles of the material.  The pictures at his house of the material are taken at a far distance of a pile that has been dumped out of a truck and therefore spread out.  The pictures of the material at our location are taken standing right next to the pile of material that was been dumped from a machine which is more controlled.
The customer contact us asked to be refunded the $90 delivery fee. In an effort to resolve the issue and satisfy the customer, he was offered half of the delivery fee, $45. The customer was inappropriate on the phone when speaking to my employees.  He then began posting negative things regarding our company on social media.
One of my employees reached out to him to attempt to resolve the issue, as I was unavailable until now, but was unsuccessful. With each conversation, the customer’s story and request has changed. The information he is now including regarding having a contractor onsite to spread the rock and not having enough material to do the job has never been presented or discussed prior.
Despite his claims, he did receive the correct amount of material that he ordered and paid for.  Therefore, he is not entitled to a refund.
