I hired Leveled Up to remove and replace carpeting, painting of 2 rooms, a long hallway and a walk in closet, installation of a ceiling fan and to install an exterior door and two interior doors. He started service on 8/2/2023. I have used Leveled Up on a previous occasion and was happy with their service. I paid $3200 (half of the initial estimate) to start services on 8/2/2023. On 8/15/2023, I paid the other half of $3200, unfortunately. I didn't need to pay the full amount to continue, but I did. On 9/11/2023, we agreed on some additional work that would include some additional painting and a second ceiling fan installation. His quotation was $474.00, but I felt he undervalued his time, so I paid him $1000. Services continued, until an illness struck his family starting on 9/19/2023. On 9/21/2023, I sent a text to check on him and go no response, on 9/26/2023, I sent another text to check on him. on 9/27/2023, he responded and said they were still sick. 9/28/2023, he informed me that his wife was still sick and he needed to watch the kids. on 10/5/23, he worked a half day (starting at noon). He came back on 10/6/2023 to work. As part of his working, he had to remove his tools and supplies to make ready for the final painting and carpet install. That was the last that I hear or saw him, The project is not complete. Some small painting is required and NO carpet has been installed. I sent a text on 10/21/23, but received no response. I am disappointed and should NEVER have paid up front. That is on me. I would estimate the remaining amount left uncompleted to be $1500-$2000.
