I hired R&M to install a partial fence in 2018. I made it clear that I did not know where the property lines were and I was informed that this would not be a problem and they would pull that information. They prepared a proposal and submitted an application for permit with the City representing that the fence would be properly installed on my property. Recently, my neighbor raised questions about the location of the fence. Upon inquiry, R&M assured me that they used property line pins to place the fence. Neighbor and I paid for a property line survey which showed fence over the property line onto my neighbor’s property. I contacted R&M and was told I would have to pay an additional $900 to move the fence to the proper location…the location they represented to the City and to me that the fence was already in. I do not believe that I should have to pay for mistakes made by R&M when installing the fence or the misrepresentations they made to both myself and the City.
