On April 19 i got my truck towed to ******'s automotive repair. They informed me that my engine was bad and needed to be replaced. They charged me $3,000 for the replacement job. My truck's motor broke down between 35 - 40 days after i received it back from ******. I called ****** and asked what he could do to help me and he told me they can't help me because the warranty is passed after 30 days from the "install". I found another mechanic (Ali's auto service). He found me a motor and i had my truck towed there. $3,100 total for the replacement of the motor and labor. He diagnosed it and determined it was bad. When ali pulled out the motor he said he doesn't think ****** ever replaced the motor. He said they tried to fix some parts on it and could tell by looking at everything that this was the original motor the never pulled from my truck. This explains why it took ****** 30 days. ****** originally said the job was supposed to take up to a week and he kept stalling and delaying. My wife and I just has a baby born while this was going on and worried of we picked up the truck early we wouldn't be able to get the motor replaved in time for me to return to work after taking time off for the baby and I needed my vehicle to get to work and ****** kept telling me it will be done soon. ****** told me to replace a motor takes time and I need patient. The truck was idling and driving rough from the day I picked it up from ******'s shop. The check engine light was on. He said it's because I need to keep driving it to get it to wear in. There were many red flags. Ali has the original motor in his shop since he just replaced the motor and he's keeping it so the Better Business Bureau can look at it to confirm that the motor is indeed original and therefore ****** never replaced the motor. I paid him for the core just so BBB can inspect it if need be. Please help our family. $3000 is a lot of money to just give away.Business response

Thank you for reaching out. Here is my response to the complaint we have received:
In response to the customers complaint, our shop has offered for the customer to bring the vehicle for an inspection to determine what is wrong with the car. After repeated attempts and offers, the customer has yet to bring the vehicle in to be inspected. Once the inspection is complete, we can begin discussing how to remedy the situation.

Hello,
we did not get a definite answer that ****** would remedy the situation in
any way after we asked numerous times. This is why we took the truck to
another mechanic for a new motor and he found that the engine was attempted
to be rebuilt and not a replacement engine at all. We are asking for a FULL
REFUND before we take matters further.

In regards to the customer's complaint that the engine was not replaced, the customer's mechanic can verify the engine was changed by checking the serial number on the engine. The customer accepted a used engine with a 30 day warranty. Before installing the used engine, we replaced the timing belt kit, adjusted the valves, replaced the valve cover gasket and spark plugs, and new oil and filter- as is industry standard.Customer response

Update: Today the issue was resolved between ******'s LLC and myself.
****** reached out to me personally and remedied my complaint above and
beyond our satisfaction. He proved that he did indeed do the work agreed
upon. He showed great care in handling this situation and we really
appreciate it. He wanted to prove he is an honest businessman and for that
we are very grateful. We'd like this posted to clarify any and all
misunderstandings and to close this.
