I recently had an issue with a ceiling light fixture and contacted ***. He responded the same day and the repair was scheduled for the next day. He arrived at the scheduled time and the repair was completed. I appreciated his prompt communication and service and would highly recommend.************

Called Mr. H****** on 6/27 and 6/28 to do a small job. Left a message with both calls not being answered. Sent e-mail through the BBB website and still no reply. If Mr Hartley does not need the business, a return phone call would have been appreciated.Review from Shane D

James is the best. Such a nice guy and always provides great work. I highly recommend for any of your electrical needs. I've probably given less than a dozen reviews in my lifetime since I rarely feel compelled to do so, but James deserves it. He is an awesome person who truly takes the time to understand your needs and delivers with excellent quality of work. You can tell he really cares. Jim is very easy to work with- I called him about a burned out doorbell transformer (not an urgent situation), and he said that he could work me into the schedule in a couple of days. The next day he called to say that he was finishing another job in the neighborhood and asked if he could come over. I told him I needed to be somewhere in around 90 minutes. He arrived in 15 minutes and was finished with the job in about another 20 minutes. This is the third time I've had him come over to do minor work. Every time he came quickly, diagnosed the problem and solved it in good time. I'll definitely call on him again.James M. Hartley Electric, LLC Response

In order to install central air-conditioning, I needed to upgrade my electric service to 100 Amp. After reading many reviews from several sites, I chose James Hartley. He proved to be very knowledgeable, professional, with good communication skills. He was on time and sent an alert call 15 min. before arriving. The installation looks neat and tidy. On March 3,2023 I discovered water flowing though my basement breaker box.James was reommended by a neighbor.I called him he came to my house at 5pm on very rainy Friday evening. He discovered where water was coming in from the outside electrical meter. He stood outside in the pouring rain and sealed outside meter He tried to reset breaker but it wouldn't reset.He said he needed to replace.We made an appointement for him to come back on Saturday morninto install new breakers.He called before he came arrived on time and a great job fixing the problem. James is very professional,polite and very personal. He is very knowledgeable, Price of the job was very reasonable. I will use him again if any electrical problems come up. I had an acquaintance who said he could install a ceiling light and fan in my bedroom. He started the job, but made a mess of my wall switch. He put a wire in the the attic wan with my help, brought in down into the switch area. Then he didn't show up for days, and it became very obvious that he wasn't up to finishing the job. Another friend told me that I really should have a licensed electrician for a job like this and gave t]me James number. He came promptly, as we had scheduled, afetr I explained the situation to him. He quickly and thoroughly finished the fan installation in less than 2 hours, leaving no mess. He gave me a discount from his original quote since he did not have to go up into the attic. He gave me a dimmer switch for both the light and the fan speeds. I would use him again for anything that requires more than just basic electrical work.. A breaker went bad and the electric furnace would not run. I called several electricians and most said they couldn't come out until a week or two. One that did come out said the breaker box was so old (****) it would be illegal to replace any of the breakers and gave me an estimate of about $5000 to replace the entire breaker box. Hartley electric came out and said they could replace the bad breaker (it was grandfathered so not illegal) if they could find one but there were issues with such an old breaker box. He gave me an estimate of less than half the $5000 estimate and rewired to another breaker that got my furnace running until he could come out to install the new breaker box. The new breaker box took about 5 hrs and went flawlessly. *** was the consummate professional and I could see he knew what he was doing. Honest, pleasant, and explained things very clearly. I highly recommend Hartley Electric if you need an electrician. I know if I need one in the future it will be them. Finally, please make sure to get more than one estimate, it can save you a ton of money.James M. Hartley Electric, LLC Response
