I have built a 60x64 pole barn. I was looking into all different insulation types to see what would work the best and be most cost effective. I asked for an insulation quote from Gale Insulation for batt insulation. Throughout the process, I was working with ****. **** and I emailed and talked on the phone multiple times about the batt insulation. **** stated that the insulation would be friction fitted and fill the cavity between my interior framing and outside metal wall. He also stated that the insulation would be behind all the interior Grits (framing). I knew nothing about insulation until this project and mishap. The quoted material was R13. I have learned that this is for 2x4 framing. My barn has 8" post so this insulation is the incorrect insulation to do the job of filling the cavity. When it was installed, it was stapled to the inside of the framing where I and going to be hanging the plywood walls. I asked **** about this and stated that you said it would be friction fitted. His response, sorry about that but staples are common. Upon further inspection, I notice that it did not fill the cavity nor did it go behind any of the framing. When I called **** out on this he stated that is what you signed for. The entire thing was quoted incorrectly from Gale. I told them I need a resolution to the issue. I finally spoke to management at Gale and they stated that the resolution would be to blow in fiberglass behind to fill the cavity at an extra cost to me. I do not believe I should have the extra cost. I decided to have it removed and refunded since it was not what I was told it would be. They did remove the insulation but left a complete mess of my barn. All the staples are still there and have paper insulation hanging everywhere. I am now having to remove the staples and clean up after them. Also, the CC auth form states two payments of $2483.50, however my card was ran for $2865. I still have not received my refund.
