Allstate Insurance Frank Lengal ************ Got an insurance quote June 28 2021 for ***************, quoted $816/yr.Paid to start the insurance that day.July 22 logged in to pay the rest of the policy and the policy had been cancelled, not phonecall or email or us mail.Agent returned my phonecall and said the policy had been cancelled due to excessive shrubery around the house. It had overgrown some, so spent almost $1000 on having a company come out and remove it all, sent pictures back to the insurance company showing it was done, and agent said he would go back to underwriters to reinstate August 19th. However a week later they came back with a higher amount for the policy, had raised $220 to $1037.03, so again called agent. He said they re-evaluated the policy and raised the coverage amount $50k,but could drop it back down to ~$900 if I removed burglery and vandalism. No, that's not good. The whole reason for getting an insuraqnce change was to save some money, not go to a substandard insurance.I consider this a bait and switch tactic, give me a price, then cancel then reinstate and raise the price.Left it with the insurance agent to review, they wouldn't change, so cancelled and went with another insurance company to do what I wanted in the first place, good insurance at a better price. But they continued to ****.No other contact from Allstate, but now looks like they sent to collections for another $165 above and beyond what I had already paid. I was going to switch my other home and auto policies over too, but after this bait and switch approach to their customers, that's not going to happen. Not sure what the additional is for but would like it removed and removed from collections and my credit report.***************************** ************Business response

In response to the complaint lodges agains my agency. The client was written by one of my teammates. He was written in June of 2021 for a landlord policy. As with all properties written at Allstate there is an inspection process. Allstate uses a third party inspector to determine if the property has any issues that might be a cause for concern, also to make sure we have the correct replacement cost and that the house is insured properly. Upon inspection the inspector had an issue with the property being overgrown and that the replacement cost for the property differed from what we had issued the policy with coverage wise. We issued it with 248k in coverage and the inspection showed to replace the house it would need to be insured for 308k. Both issues were relayed on to the customer. Not only by my team member but also in writing via a letter sent by Allstate. The customer made the necessary repairs to the property and we appealed our underwriting decision. The policy was continued without interruption. The customer was not happy with the new premium, so we discussed ways to lower it. The customer did not feel it was worth the changes and decided to discontinue the policy as of October 2021. During the policy period the customer made one payment in July 2021. He had coverage until October and simply owes for the time Allstate covered the risk.
