**** ******, the owner of the vehicle in question, is my grand daughter. I paid for the engine work under dispute due to the shoddy business practices and repairs performed by Hillbilly Automotive and Tire, *** ** *** **** ********** *** *****. I placed a call to Hillbilly on November 15, 2023 and inquired about what was going on with the car and why the car was still not running correctly after paying them almost $3,500.00 for repairs. The shop indicated they drove the car 40 miles and said it was running fine. I told the owner that **** drove the car to Columbus, Oh, after they worked on the engine, and that the car now leaked oil and antifreeze, and the manifold gasket leaked. I confronted the owner that they attempted to charge **** an additional $700.00 an oil pump and labor, Which should be covered under warranty (90 days per the attached invoice). The shop owner was not truthful in their claim that they offered to repair the car for free (****** father was present when she contact the shop and can attest to ****** assertion the shop attempted to make her pay for the additional work). The shop also stated during this conversation that other parts were bad. This should have been diagnosed up front. The shop owner contended the car was running good without issue, to which I responded if that's the case, why is it not running well now. The shop owner had no response or resolution. I advised I may seek counsel to resolve the dispute. I had the distinct impression the shop owner was taking advantage of my granddaughter, thinking she had no knowledge regarding automotive repair, when in fact she has extensive knowledge of automotive repair. The shop owner took an aggressive tone when speaking with my granddaughter, but took and opposite approach when speaking with me, attempting to downplay the situation. This is my granddaughter's only vehicle that drives from Coshocton, Oh to Columbus, Oh where she works as a nurse. At this time, she is the sole-provider to her three children. Due to unreliability of this vehicle, she is unable to drive to her work, causing great financial hardship on the family. In closing, I also contacted the Better business Bureau to report this shop. They are sending me the forms to file my complaint. If there is additional information needed, please reach out tp me at ###-###-####.
