On 1-15-22 I went to the whiskybourbonclub.com website to place an order for some difficult to find bourbon. My total for the bourbon was $150 and upon putting in my address, the shipping came up as $10 flat rate. I paid for the order via a Zelle transaction and received a confirmation request for payment which I sent. I was then given a tracking number which took me to Smart Express Shipping who wanted to confirm my address. I provided my address and then they sent me a new invoice for shipping insurance that was $200. At this point, I decided this was a scam as I had already paid for my item plus an agreed upon shipping amount only to be asked for more money after I had paid for the item. Their website claims 100% refund upon conflict but they refuse to do so because they do not feel there is a conflict. Their last email stated they would "help me out" and cover $50 of the shipping but I would have to pay the remaining $150 to get my item. I have filed a claim with my bank but am doubtful I get money back since I used Zelle. I should have used a credit card or even PayPal because I would have better recourse to recoup my money from this scam. Stay away from whiskybourbonclub.com and Smart Express Shipping.
