Please done waste your money. This company doesn't do what they, when giving estimate. There is no break down in cost, nor do they post permits for work . I had a water line break anywhere between the street and my house come to find out what's in my yard. They showed up gave an estimate of $6,300 guaranteed the break will be fixed things will be taken care of before they left. Job is only supposed to take 3 hours it turned into a two-day adventure and then they had to actually come back because when Natasha came to check the meter they couldn't read the meter because they put the meter in backwards. I called them asking for a breakdown of material cost labor and everything they did and they say they don't do that which I don't understand because you have to yeah I'm trying to figure out what I spent $6,300 on. Come to find out they replaced the pipe by cutting the pipe putting a PVC pipe into the pipe any clamping the ends . At the same time they told me that the pipe was dead but goes from the meter to my house was the wrong pipe it was illegal outdated it was irrigation pipe. Contact the township they came out and looked and basically said it was correct pipe. The township had to call Spartan to make them come back out redo the work reset the meter because they just threw it in there through dirt on my yard has not the same as it was when they left they didn't see they did nothing but what they did is they took $6,300 never gave me a receipt never gave me a breakdown material. This is a shoddy company I will not recommend them to anybody I hope whoever reads this knows not to in a Dayton area call them and reach out to a more reputable company. It's also a shame because if I could give zero Stars I would but you have to give a star so I really want to give like a half a starReview from Lynne C

Beware. I called Spartan Plumbing (JMK Plumbing Dayton)in June to check out why I had no water pressure in my home. The first guy they dispatched immediately replaced 4 waterstops indicating that they were corroded and could be causing the problem ($610.30). Then the "supervisor" showed up to check things out. After collaborating with his team (something he said would take 10 minutes and winded up taking 1.5 hours after which I went out to his truck and asked what the heck was going on), he presented me with 4 options each one excalating in price from $1500 to $3000 to $7000 to $15000. After I told him I could not afford to replace everything as he suggested, he replaced the pressure valve which was the reason for the water pressure problems. He also fixed the boot on the water heater which looked suspiciously like it had been unclamped. I was charged $1255.50 to replace the PVC and "fix" the boot. The supervisor then had the nerve to request that I leave a postive review and gifted me a new head for my kitchen faucet (what a swell thing to do). I will never ever hire Spartan Plumbing to do anything in my home and regret my calling them and spending a total of $1865.80 not to mention the hours they spent of my time conniving a plan to cheat me out of us much money as they could. Shameful.Review from Greg H

A scam artist. They are not BBB accredited yet their website boasts an A+ rating from BBB. I wanted a gas water heater installed and they would only quote installing their own water heater, plus they would install a water softener and replace the faucet on our kitchen sink. All for only $14,000. Of course, their quote did not itemize any of the costs. I used ** **** ******** (BBB accredited) and they installed my water heater for $370.Spartan Plumbing and Drain Cleaners Response

Dear Greg, I want to extend my personal apologies for the misunderstanding and disappointment you experienced with our service proposal. It is clear from your feedback that we did not meet your expectations, which is not the standard of service we aim to uphold. Your point regarding the water heater installation has been taken to heart. We typically offer our own units as part of a service package, but we understand and respect that this may not always align with our customers' preferences or needs. Your experience has highlighted a need for us to review our communication processes. Regarding the BBB accreditation, we previously held an A+ rating and were indeed accredited; however, we chose not to renew our accreditation a few years ago. We will take immediate action to update our website to reflect this accurately to avoid any future confusion. While you have chosen to use another service, and we respect your decision, we are grateful that you brought these matters to our attention. We are committed to improving our service and ensuring that we learn from your experience. We wish you all the best with your new installation and thank you for your feedback, which we will use constructively. Best regards, Josh Owner, Spartan PlumbingReview from Aaron B

They took advantage of a situation and quoted a job 2/3 higher than other companies. Came out and did crappy work and left a massive leak in my basement they blamed on previous companies. Sutton plumbing g (I highly recommend them) came out and pointed out several sub standard elements of Spartan plumbings work, and said they most definitely cause the leak. DO NOT USE SPARTAN PLUMBING.Spartan Plumbing and Drain Cleaners Response

Dear Aaron, We are truly sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration that has come with it. At Spartan Plumbing, we strive for excellence in service and workmanship, and it seems we have fallen short in your case. For this, we offer our sincere apologies. We take all feedback seriously, as it is crucial for us to maintain standards and improve our services. We also want to ensure full transparency and accountability. We did find 2 fittings that were leaking and they were installed by us. These fittings were repaired without question since it was within our original scope of work. With every project, we document the process extensively, with photos, videos and a virtual ride along process that documents each and every step pre and post project. According to our pre and post project photos, videos and 2 technician testimonials this was pre-existing. If there were any dissatisfaction with the workmanship, we would have certainly taken the opportunity to make it right. Concerning the pricing of our services, we want to assure you that our quotes are based on a thorough assessment of the work required, always aiming to be competitive while ensuring quality and durability. We understand that our cost structure may not always be the lowest, as it reflects the caliber of materials we use and the expertise of our certified technicians. The issue of the leak is a significant concern, and while our team reported that it was pre-existing, we take the comments from Sutton Plumbing seriously. If there are aspects of the job we completed that can be proven to be substandard and the cause of the leak, we are committed to investigating this further. Thank you for your feedback. It is important to us that we learn and improve from every situation. Warm regards, Josh Owner, Spartan PlumbingReview from Joe H

My well went out in the back yard. I called Spartan as they said they specialize in wells. They told me they could not find the well registered with the county so they would have to dig up the backyard to see what was in the ground. They stated that they couldn't use the existing equipment but would have to set up a new system and quoted me and entry level of $12,000 and that would go up from there based on additional things I wanted. They charged me $400 to pull the pump out (which took 5 minutes) and then said there was nothing they could do. I called Massie Creek Plumbing and they replaced the pump, put in a new switch and got my well working within a couple of hours. Spartan Plumbing is either an inexperienced or dishonest company and I would suggest going towards ****** ***** of you ever need an honest plumber.Spartan Plumbing and Drain Cleaners Response

Dear Joe H******, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent service experience with us. We are dedicated to providing high-quality services, and it is concerning to hear that your experience did not meet the standards we strive to uphold. In regards to the work on your well, we understand your concerns about the approach that was taken. Our recommendation to set up a new system, rather than using the existing equipment, was based on our initial assessment aimed at ensuring long-term effectiveness and compliance with safety standards. We apologize if this recommendation or the process was not communicated as clearly as it should have been, leading to any misunderstanding. We recognize that our decision to charge for the initial assessment, despite the brevity of the task, may have seemed disproportionate. This fee is intended to cover the expertise, diagnostic efforts, and equipment employed. We always strive for transparency in our services and regret any impression of overcharging. Hearing that ****** ***** ******** was able to resolve your issue promptly is a relief, and we respect your decision to seek their services. Our priority is to offer the best possible solutions to our customers, and we are sorry if we did not meet this goal in your case. Absolutely terrible. Do not recommend using this company. Seems like they want to help but do not let them fool you. They are money hungry and do not care for their customers. Charged an astronomical amount and still do not have running water. Replaced a water filter on my softener and a $10 pressue gauge and pulled the well pump and charged 4X what other companies quoted. Multiple companies came out after Spartan had charged me for “the work done” and said they would have been under $300 and spartan charged me $2,267. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Absolutely disgusted.Review from Maxwell C

Spartan plumbing scam artists Short Story: first time well owner ran out of water with newborn (which they knew) and called Spartan who did not give me an estimate over the phone charged me 3x the market price to put in a well tank. Long Story: Bought my house 2 years ago which is on a well and I did not grow up with a well. When my water ran out I had no clue how to determine what was causing the issue. I called Spartan who said they didn’t give estimates for different services over the phone and said they had to have a tech come out and see. When they got here they said my well tank went bad and showed me prices, fixed estimates. I know that I should have shopped around for the best price but wasn’t really in a situation to wait for water. Just as a warning after calling around I found replacing a well tank should be 800-1500 dollars(found out later). Spartan charges 3000 for the cheapest option. They did an okay job I will give them that but overall I felt like I was at a car dealership. I had to go to work and my wife was left when she signed the receipt and mentioned one of the guys couldn’t even look her in the face knowing full well we were being ripped off. She also asked for an itemized receipt and was told it was a flat fee. When I called the next day to ask for that same service of a 20 gallon well tank replacement they wouldn’t give it to me saying it all depends on what is being done. Long story short do not shop this plumber.Review from Denise S

my water heater stopped working and I called Spartan Plumbing. They came out and gave me a quote of $4700 for a new water heater and to remove and replace my water softener. I thought this estimate was way too high. I called another plumber who came out on a Saturday and did the work for $1800. I feel like they took advantage of the fact that I was a single woman. I Don’t appreciate their business practices and will never use them Again.Review from Cheyanne C

We called Spartan out due to our toilet ans sewer line being installed incorrectly by the previous owner. The toilet was leaking under the tile and the sewage line was backing up. Spartan had to come out a total of 5 times, 3 of those times to fix mistakes they made. The first time to fix a leak they missed, the 2nd to move the hot water shut off they blocked when moving the sewage line, and the 3rd to fix another leak after the project was completed. When they pulled my toilet they left it sitting on a towel on my hardwood floor with water still in the tank. This caused damage to my floor that was not previously there. I asked Spartan for a credit towards my bill to correct this and I would fix it myself, they claimed the damage was already there and refused to do anything to correct their mistake, then they claimed they did not pull the toilet. Not only do I have the bill for this, I have seen the photo they have of the toilet being there after they pulled it and they still deny they did it. Spartan also tried to charge me $10k to repair my floor from the leaking damage claiming my floor joists needed replaced. After having two other companies out here to review this. We ended up having just the subfloor replaced as that was all that is needed. Spartan Plumbing is not a reputable company and i will not use them in the future.Review from David C
