If I could give them no stars I would this is the worst company so unprofessional and very much a scam I was in my accident on 5/6/24 I reached out to make a gap claim on July 8th thats also when they sent me info to send them my driver info report I sent them my drivers report 7/17/24 and it had to be sent three times processed three times till finally they said they needed more papers and they needed the crash report so on 8/21/24 I submitted my crash report and it has taken them over a month and there still processing it and in the mix of it all Ive called multiple times trying to receive answers told the remaining *** check was denied then told oh it wasnt bc you submitted it before the 90 days my financial car loan people have called me numerous times stating I owe money that my gap is supposed to be covering and it is racking interest day after day but they dont cover the interest fees that they are causing me due to them dragging there feet and not to mention the credit hit Im receiving at the age of 19 it effects a lot with this many bad reviews this company needs to be shut down. If your buying a car from a dealership with this ************* with it DO NOT go with it they will s**** you over.Advanced Protection Products International, Inc. Response

Hello. Please note that the *** Addendum is not an insurance; rather, it is an addendum that attaches to and becomes a part of your Finance Agreement. The Addendum is an agreement between you and the Dealer (or **************** if assigned, as is the case here) that the ********************** will waive the difference between the Outstanding Balance on the Date of Loss and the Actual Cash Value in the event of a Total Loss. As a term of the Addendum, it is your responsibility to provide complete documentation within 90 days of the ***************** Carriers settlement date. In this case, you submitted a Police Report prior to the deadline, but it was incomplete. We did not receive the complete police report until after the deadline. We acknowledge that a denial was processed, however, we have determined that to be in error, and on September 25, 2024, we authorized a waiver benefit. We will advise the *************** to waive the authorized amount. Please allow time for the *************** to acknowledge the waiver and apply it. Any balance remaining after the waiver is applied is your responsibility per the agreement's terms.Review from Shawnta J

I totaled my car 4/8/2024 they gave me the run around for paperwork. I had to drive to the dealership and call my bank with Appi on the phone. After getting the paperwork submitted on 06/14/2024 they are now telling me I have 2 months to wait. The operator refuse to give me her name, her supervisors name or any other information. She said ***** is my name Im the only ***** here and hung up the phone. These people are definitely a scam and Im looking into taking them to court for the impact my credit has took and the way they have fumbled my claim. ***** said she would put a note to expedite my claim, I whole heartedly dont believe her or the name she gave.2405-190Advanced Protection Products International, Inc. Honestly, I did not think to search this company for negative reviews and check with BBB until today, after I was told again by APPI my gap claim is still not processed well over ************************************************************************** early June 2024 and when I asked how much longer, customer service responds there is no end date, its still too early, seriously?? My son is making his remaining payments with no car (his car totaled) and paying for rental cars/ubers and its definitely taking a toll on our finances/savings. You would think when you are paying extra for a protection service that when you need it during an already stressful event it should be processed and handled in a timely manner, this is what you are paying for, at least I thought?? I will not request GAP insurance from this company in the future and will question any dealership who offers and suggests this is a good service, I may not buy a car from any dealership who suggests I purchase gap insurance from any unreliable company, I don't have the money or time to deal with this time of scam or unprofessional service and the company should be a shame to do business in this way, this can't be good for their reputation to have low customer scores and negative feedback.Advanced Protection Products International, Inc. Please note that we process benefit requests in the order that complete documentation is received. Additional details will be sent to the contact information we have on file. This company is a total scam. Do not use them. I will be doing a more detailed review shortly. If I could give them -5 stars, I would they did not handle my claim properly they have incompetent staff who drops the ball and they will continue to tell you their system is not working. Their phones are not working they have to get off of the phone you’ll be left in the middle of nowhere, and then they will come back and say you did not make gear within 90 days of submission documents so therefore they will deny your claimAdvanced Protection Products International, Inc. Hello. Your GAP Addendum requires submission of all required documents within 90 days of the date your insurance issued a settlement. In this case, our records indicate that your insurance issued a settlement on February 2, 2024, which means that the deadline to submit documents was May 2, 2024. Our records indicate that a copy of your Finance Agreement was provided to us on or around February 27, 2024, and a copy of a reporting form provided by us was returned on or around April 30, 2024. However, no other documents were received until on or about May 14, 2024, which was after the deadline. Therefore, we determined that your benefit request should be denied in accordance with the terms of the Addendum. Thank you.Review from Andrew S

Terrible customer service and nobody here knows what the hell they are doing. I filled out a form to cancel gap insurance because I plan on paying a big chunk down in a couple weeks and don’t need this and apparently nobody at this company knows how to cancel it and refers me to the dealership. Ive never had to contact the dealership to cancel gap on any other vehicle I’ve had. And based off of these reviews I definitely wouldn’t want this company for gap insurance anyway. I’ll be contacting the finance company about this because one way or another it’s getting cancelled and I shouldn’t have to go to the dealership to do this. What would someone do if they moved across state and were no where near this dealership? Absolutely ridiculous.Advanced Protection Products International, Inc. Response

My car was total loss.APPI GAP needed to pay me 5k$.Instead, after months of me sending documents and calling and speaking to different representatives, they canceled my case because I “didn’t provide them all documents in 90 days” since my case was opened. This is a false claim because I’ve been providing every document, some of them more than once whenever they ask. APPI has done an amazing job at ignoring everything and just doing what they needed to make sure they didn’t pay the bill. APPI after asking me asked me provide them additional documents, would review those documents 7 business days instead 2 business days as listed on their website. Each time I contacted them, it was to tell them they always had the documents they were requesting. Each time I’ve had to contact this company they’ve given me a complete run around that would add more time to my case so they could just close it out instead of doing the honest thing and paying the bill, since I already paid the bill when I bought the car. They’ve been extending my case as long as possible for their agenda, so they could legally cancel my case. I understood this early on, and I specifically asked via email “90 business days or calendar?”. They didn’t answer that simple question. They replied “call us”. I called and their representative said “you don’t have to worry about 90 days, there’s no deadline”. Two separate representatives gave me that answer when I asked about the deadline. I asked their representative for an email me confirmation of their words. She’s confirmed she would email. As you can guess, that person emailed me anything. They have all lied to me, they were extremely rude, hanging up the phone while they were talking to me without calling back. I have provided all documents, I have stayed in top of the by calling and asking them to do their job. But, it looks like they worked to slow on purpose so APPI would not be responsible for paying the $5k which I had to pay for when I purchased the carAdvanced Protection Products International, Inc. Hello. Your GAP Addendum is an addendum to the Finance Agreement and is neither insurance nor a warranty. APPI is the Administrator of the addendum, providing services to the Finance Company, but is not a party to either agreement. In this case, our records indicate that the required documents, a list found in the terms of the Addendum, were submitted piecemeal between January 24, 2024, and April 22, 2024. Submitting the required documents piecemeal can delay processing time, unlike submitting all the required documents in a complete and single submission fashion. In addition, it can create an electronic claim status designation (as in the case a denial) that must then be corrected. Once we received all the necessary documents, your benefit request was submitted for review to be processed in the order complete documentation was received. Our records indicate that the benefit review process is complete, and a waiver benefit was authorized on June 6, 2024. We suggest you follow up with your Finance Company to determine how the waiver benefit will be processed and applied to your account. Any balance remaining after the waiver is applied is your responsibility, per the Finance Agreement’s terms.Review from Justin W

Absolutely horrible. Do not purchase their service. Had to file a claim and the original status was 20 business days. We're now exceeding 30 business days and counting. Call every week and all I get is "it's in review, we're really backed up" claim started in March it is now June.Advanced Protection Products International, Inc. Response

Hello. Our records indicate that the Total Loss occurring on November 21, 2023, was not reported to us until on or about February 23, 2024. Between February 25, 2024, and April 17, 2024, documents were submitted to us in a piecemeal fashion. Submitting the required documents piecemeal can create a delay in the processing time versus submitting all the required documents in a complete and single submission fashion. Once all documents were received, we placed the benefit request under review to be processed in the order complete documents were received. As of June 13, 2024, we authorized a waiver benefit. Thank you.Review from Jennifer T

APPI has made a stressful situation even worse. I totaled my jeep in March and had all the documents turned in by 4/22. When I called to check on the status on 5/9, I was told it would be at least another 5 weeks. I have already made 2 payments while paying for a rental car. I cannot keep this up for much longer as I need a car to drive to work. The car accident was stressful and traumatic enough and I’m wanting to move on from it but cannot because of this issue. The dealership I purchased my jeep through had nothing but good things to say about this company and reassured me that I would be taken care of which is why I paid 1000$ for the waiver instead of finding my own coverage.Advanced Protection Products International, Inc. I used APPI for GAP insurance when I bought my car. Well the car got totaled in January of 2024 and they are still processing my claim I submitted all the documents pretty much immediately and they said normally it takes 30 days but since they are running behind it could be longer we are going on month 4 since I have submitted everything and almost month 5 since I totaled my car. Completly ridiculous that is takes this long to get anything done by them. Sadly I am not going to have to make my new car payment and my old car payment starting May 12th due to how long APPI takes and I am not even sure that it will be done by next month at this rate. If anyone knows what I can do please let me know!!!Advanced Protection Products International, Inc. Response
