I purchased a used Hydraulic Coupler from ****** ******* *** Sales Manager, at Findlay Implement, **** on Jan 27, 2022, for $2260. I agreed to purchase the equipment "Sold As-is Where-is", realizing the equipment was used, but with the understanding that the equipment was in good working order. In talking with ****** prior to purchasing the coupler, ****** stated that the equipment was in good working order, but may be missing small items. If ****** would have told me before I purchased the coupler that they didn't know it if was functional or not, I never would have purchased it. When he assured me that it all worked, I proceeded with the purchase. The main issue is one of the main components, a hydraulic electric solenoid, did not work once installed. Inputs into the solenoid tested good, so I purchased a new solenoid, installed it, and then the hydraulic coupler worked as expected. Now ****** has said they had no way on knowing the coupler was non-functional. ****** has stated that they removed the used coupler from a customers machine and replaced it with a new coupler. It must have been non-functional when removed from the machine, else it would have worked when I hooked it up. It would have been obvious to any mechanic that the coupler was inoperative when removed. If good records would have been kept, then Findlay Implement should have known the solenoid/hydraulic coupler was non-functional. The new solenoid cost was $852.44, rounded to $850 for simplicity. I asked Findlay Implement to reimburse me $850 of the purchase price for the solenoid parts only, which does not include eight hours of my time to diagnose the problem and remove/install the new solenoid. Findlay Implement has refused to refund any of the purchase price. Attached is a Purchase order, solenoid invoice, and correspondence with ******. Please help me to obtain reimbursement for the solenoid cost of $850. Thank you, ***** ***** ***************** ************
