I had purchased Kitchen Aid appliances and the company they are affiliated with, J.B. Hunt, delivered them. The delivery drivers damaged our newly installed hardwood floors when they drug the refrigerator across the floor. We have deep scratches and indents across the living room and kitchen floors now. They also scratched the floor by dragging the microwave box in circles on the floor. I have dealt with several people at this company trying to file a claim and get our floors fixed, but it has been 5 months now and they have still not fixed our floors. The main claims examiner I had dealt with was Hollis W********. They asked for 2 estimates to fix the damaged floors. Due to the extent of the damage, it will cost about $3,000. Both estimates we had received were close to the same price. After providing this information to Hollis, he then demanded an invoice proving that I had new floors installed and that they cost me $22,000. My question is why does any of this matter? Bottom line is that I had very nice hardwood floors and now they are damaged. I showed them proof of the cost of the floors anyway, but then Hollis W******** wanted an itemized breakdown of the costs to repair the floors. I gave him that from the floor guy, but still he has not come through to fix our floors. I'm looking into small claims court or a lawyer to help with this. I can't believe Kitchen Aid would use a company like this with a 1 star average review. Wow!Review from Dino C

Purchased an $8500 refrigerator from Kitchen Aid plus spent an additional $15/$20k on additional appliances too. The ice maker on this premium refrigerator has been freezing up since I purchased it in 2018. I just called to have the 4th one replaced!! 4th one! In 2023. This is such a piece of garbage with no recourse to fix it, I hope no one makes the same mistake I made with this company. Someone should prosecute Kitchen Aid for selling a flimsy product for so much money. I hope everyone heeds my warning and never buys anything from kitchen aid. I will make sure the the retailer, the service people and everyone I know understands this. I hope to hurt you as much as you’ve wasted my time money and frustrated me with this terrible product.Review from Arvin S

Horrible Warranty Support. Yes, the compressor in your refrigerator is warranted for 10 years, BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL WORK ALL 10 OF THOSE YEARS. Kitchen Aide obviously puts the service contracts out for bids and accepts the lowest. Our compressor has gone out twice now and it took about 10 days to schedule a service call (From Diamond), Of course, they do not bring a part with them, so it must be ordered and you reschedule a service call when they have a a part and a tech that is willing to install a compression (Does not pay well for tech). First service round took about 6 weeks till we had ice / freezer again. We are already into the 10 day service call for the 2nd outing. Back up freezer highly recommended and so not expect any real service from Kitchen Aide.Review from Daniel A

Do NOT buy anything from these guys. They offer customer service on part with the worst government agency you've ever dealt with. When I had a problem with a water filter they shipped, they took several days to get back to me on their web site and then referred me to call a phone number that deal with auto parts. All I wanted was to return the unopened wrong water filter and exchange it for the right one. I would have paid a restocking fee and shipping. After I finally got to speak to a human after a series of long waits on the phone, they told me I was beyond the 30 day return policy and wouldn't budge. I will NEVER buy anything from Kitchen Aide or Whirlpool again and, unless you are a glutton for punishment, you should stay away from these guys too.Review from Vivki T

They make returns as difficult as possible. We actually love our kitchenaid appliances. However, when we bought a new dishwasher we were directed to order a new hose with it for the install. But, the installation technician said he didn't need it and had one for us already (he was amazing). He gave it back to us to return. Returning a $30 hose has been a nightmare. Wish we hadn't bought directly through KitchenAid. Amazon or Lowes would have taken the hose back immediately. First, KitchenAid customer service lines and chat are only open weekdays during business hours. I don't know many companies that do that still. So I had to wait until I was able to leave work early one day to even get connected to a chat representative. The chatbot does not accept any other answer for help besides "major" or "small appliance". So the rep the bot got me couldn't help me return a simple hose return because she only dealt with appliances. She told me to call a number beginning with 544. I dialed it but no such number existed. I asked her to provide me with another since that number was clearly nonexistent. She said it's the only number she had. I continued to press her multiple times until she finally double checked and then gave me a new number that started with 844. She did not apologize or admit her mistake. I had a 15 minute hold time which wasn't bad. But the rep there also couldn't help me and said I had to call their warranty department. But after I got connected there the rep said she couldn't help me either and transferred me to another department. Finally, the 4th person was able to help with the return. So, for something that would have taken me under a minute with Amazon at any time of day or a few minutes at Lowe's on my day off, it took me leaving work early and spending almost an hour being shuffled off to different departments just to get a simple hose returned.Review from Becky O

Horrible company to work with. I would never do business with them again. Period. Horrible customer service, they partner with terrible delivery services- have been fighting with them for 3 weeks to get a dishwasher delivered that’s been sitting 30 min from me and they won’t allow me to pick it up. Stay away!Review from Mary T

I purchased Kitchen Aid appliances (four to the tune of over $6000)when I moved. I figured they were top end and would be my last major appliance purchase. The evaporator and compressor were recently replaced under the five year coverage plan. It took their “trained” specialists two weeks to come in to tell me what the problem was and another week to replace the covered parts. Fortunately they were available locally but the repair couldnt be scheduled until the parts were in hand. The wait times on the phone were unacceptable and KitchenAid does not cover lost food. As a senior citizen living on a fixed income, that was a costly uncovered loss. They suggested my homeowners insurance. How commendable that they request I file a claim on my insurance when it was through faulty design that is well established. I got a lot of “we understand” from them but little else. I would have been further ahead to buy used appliances or to have kept what was in the house and replaced as they wore out. To add to my fury, I got emails about receiving a discount on future purchases. My advice to future appliance purchasers, dont purchase Kitchen Aid. They are no longer a top notch brand based on their customer support and their product. The factory trained techs that fixed the unit were professional and running ragged with the number of repairs requested.Review from Belinda M

I purchased a refrigerator in September 2021, I thought I was purchasing a premium product since I was paying a premium price of nearly 4,000.00. It worked great for the first year, now it’s nothing but problems. The ice maker works intermittently, the lights go out and I have to pull it out and unplug it to reset the lights. The water works sometimes and sometimes not. The freezer is not keeping my ice cream frozen. They will not stand behind their products. Buyer beware, do not purchase this expensive piece of crap!Review from Linda J

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Lowe's in late 2021. Six months ago, I noticed the air vent on the front of the dishwasher had rust spots. The door is USA manufactured stainless steel, with the air vent near the door handle. Kitchen Aid's authorized dealer came out, looked at the door, confirmed it is rust and charged me $150. The fee to replace the door is $500. For the price of the dishwasher, it is surprising that a door that is clearly defective in manufacture would not be covered by KitchenAid. The technician even called the to verify they would not cover the rust occurring on the door. I will purchase from another dealer and brand in the future.
