This company is unprofessional and disturbing. They called my EMPLOYER multiple times while I was away on vacation over a debt that was not even mine. They had no social security number and just searched my name on the internet to find where I worked without ever verifying with the college it was the right person. I asked to speak to a supervisor multiple times and they stated that since I said the debt was not mine they couldn't get me to a supervisor. I was hung up on FOUR TIMES trying to speak with a supervisor. I called the college I graduated from who verified this company had the wrong person and they were APALLED at how this company does "business" I will be contacting my attorney as my new manager now thinks I have crippling debt as she received all of "my" harassing debt collector calls while I was on vacation. This is absolutely disgusting.

It is common practice for collection agencies to seek out additional contact information for people who owe a debt in order to contact them and bring it to their attention. With common names, sometimes agencies reach out to the wrong party. The last thing an agency wants to do is waste their time attempting to contact the wrong person. Additionally, while we may have a desire to respond to multiple untruths in this review we are bound by federal law from providing certain information that may be made public through the BBB. Rest assured that all contact information that can be associated with complainant was immediately removed from our system at our first contact.Customer Response

There are ZERO untruths in my statement. I do not make reviews often and when I do, I make sure it is an accurate account of what happened. I have the call logs to prove it. Your response just shows how unprofessional your organization is. You should also know the company that reported the debt provided you with the students SSN and they are appalled at what occurred and that you didn't do your due diligence to male sure you had the correct person. I was TOLD that my name matched and I went to that college so even though the SSN didn't match it HAD to be my debt. The school is having a formal review of your company done.Review from M. C.

On August 19, 2024, I contacted the above business seeking assistance with a past account. The operator said that he had to have my sons permission to speak with me about my sons account. I asked why he had to have permission when he is only 17 and in high school still. He couldnt tell me and transferred me to his supervisor. The supervisor, whose name is ******, yelled and was verbally abusive. He refused to allow me to speak or give me an answer then accused me of lying to him about my son being in the room. So, because my son had never gave them permission (which he was never asked) they never send us anything stating we had an outstanding account there. Their lack of communication and the way they are conducting business is unprofessional. To hang up on an individual that is just seeking help is very unprofessional!!Key 2 Recovery, Inc. Response

It is a violation of federal law for any collection agency to share debtor information with a third party. If you like, you may have your son contact us and give us permission to speak with you about his debt and we would be glad to assist either of you.Customer Response

My son is a minor child who is under age 18. The parent is responsible for that minor child and should not have obtain permission from that minor child to pay the debt. When I asked the manager to explain why, he (******) was extremely rude and would not let me speak then hung up on me. This is very unprofessional and inexcusable.Review from Kaitlyn F

They will not work with you and upcharge past a resonalable amount. Like I'm actively working on paying and ensuring it's payed but they won't lift a soon to be illegal hold on my transcripts so that I can keep my job. I'm facing unemployment now.Key 2 Recovery, Inc. Response

We understand your frustration but please know that we add no amounts to any student debt nor to we placed holds on re-enrollment or transcripts. Only our clients can add collection costs to a debt owed to them in accordance with your contract with the school and only they can place or lift holds on your student account.Review from Stacy G

Terrible place after winning multiple disputes they constantly add this debt to my account and what's so crazy each time is alot higher amount than previous THAT IS FRAUD!. I asked what kind of company Key 2 was because that's all she said was Key 2 and she said a financial institution. I ask if it's a bank and she says that's all she can say. She starts biting words at me as if I'm a toddler but can't seem to answer a simple question. You're not going to get the answer you want if you can't tell me whether it's a bank or otherwise. Very rude over the phone and badgering about a debt they claim I owe. Agent said it waa mailed to the house and I nevwr received it. She kept yelling PAY YOUR BILL, PAY YOUR BILL. I will fight until the bitter end to make aure thia company ia shut down!!!!!!Review from James S.

Very unprofessional and rude. I asked for my debt, what I was offering, what they were offering, and what they had denied in writing. They refused to do so telling me they couldn't afford it. They call everyday and when I answer the hang up right away. They also never call long enough for me to get the chance to answer the phone.
