Our home’s entire roof was replaced by Roofing Services Plus last July 2023 by previous homeowners. No invoice was left by homeowners but both previous homeowners and Roofing Services Plus have verbally acknowledged that a one year craftsmanship warranty was in place from time of roof replacement. We took ownership of home on April 7, 2024. On April 11, we experienced a roof leak around two skylights that caused water damage to our home. We reached out to Roofing Services Plus on that day and left a voice mail. To address the leaking roof, we worked with a different construction company to temporarily fix the leak on April 15 and 16. They said it was because of poor roof installation. Interior damage to the home remains to this day. On April 17, we were finally able to speak to the secretary at Roofing Services Plus (**** ******). She asked how we knew that they did the work previously and we explained our situation. She acknowledged that we had an existing warranty and should be in good shape for any repair. She committed to getting back to us either “tomorrow or next week definitely”. She asked if we had an invoice from the work that was previously performed. On April 22, **** called back and said that she was still working on warranty details and a copy of our roofing invoice, but would need one to two more days. On April 23, **** called again and said she “didn’t know how to type out an underscore in my email address” in order to send along the warranty and invoice details. She said that the craftsmanship warranty ended in April 2024 but would not specify a specific date. She said she would get back to me. After not hearing from her, on April 30th, we asked our realtor to try to assist with a resolution. A voice message was left for Roofing Services Plus on April 30. On May 6th and again on May 7th, our realtor again called and did not receive a response. Roofing Services Plus hasn’t attempted to contact us or return our phone calls since

      Business response

      06/28/2024

A homeowner contacted our office 4/18/24 asking about what kind of shingle was installed on the roof of a house he purchased.  And what was the warranty on them. He did not say anything about a leak.  There was no phone messages from him on 4/11/2024 as he stated.    Not until 4/24/24 did ***** call to say there was a leak, but he had a different contractor come and fix the leak.   He asked about a workmanship warranty.  We have a one year workmanship warranty to the original customer.          This Warranty is non-transferable.

Although, ***** does have a shingle warranty from CertainTeed for any manufactures defects.  This is transferable from the previous homeowner.

      Also, on 4/30/24 **** did have a phone conversation with ******* the ******** *******.

I am rejecting this response because:
      1) Provided evidence that Roofing Services Plus was called on 4/11 the day the leak started.  See attached.
      2) Provide screenshot of notes from conversations with **** on 4/17 and 4/23.  Roofing Services Plus made it clear that we were in good shape but still asked if we had an invoice from the original work that was done.  **** said that the craftsmanship warranty was going to expire in April even though the work was done in July.  She never said it was not transferable.  The non transferable warranty is a change from the verbal discussion that occurred on 4/17 and 4/23.
      3) Roofing Services Plus never provided us with invoice or manufacturing warranty even after committing to do so.

We would like Roofing Services Plus to provide the invoice that states the craftsmanship warranty does not last past April 2024 and is not transferable.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ****
