I gave the company a check for $500.00 towards a $3,500 German Shepard pup. I gave the check in January 2022 and they cashed the check beginning of February 2022. The dog was born June 2022 and I was to pick up 8/7/2022. Company wanted cash and said she was in good health. Thursday Jana said she had a parasite coccidia. I was upset. Said let’s meet in the middle money off or clear up the illness. (She knew another puppy had coccidia that I had). She said she wouldn’t clear it up or give money off. I said I would take her. Then she said no. I want to keep her now. Anyways, she cashed the check and I would like the dog. She sent me weekly pictures and I do have a guide of how to feed the dog and last minute refused to sell. I want The dog. I have waited 8 months. She will not give Me The vet nor Talk to her partnerBusiness response

Dear Better Business Bureau Representative,
Thank you for notifying me of the complaint filed by ***** ********, in reference to the prospective purchase of a German Shepherd Puppy.
I am a hobby breeder, not a corporation and I do not have any business partners. I have been showing, training, and breeding German Shepherd Dogs for approximately fifteen years and I have never had a customer complaint. I breed the best possible pedigrees and strive to produce excellent health and temperament. This is my passion.
My first responsibility is to the welfare of the puppies I breed. This not only includes their physical health, but the environmental well being once they leave my home.
In addition to the normal veterinarian health checks I do before releasing a puppy from my care, a fecal lab test was done to determine if the puppies had any parasites. While the vet check indicated the puppies were healthy, the labs took a few days. Unfortunately, the presence of the parasite, coccidia (not uncommon) was detected. My vet prescribed medication to treat this condition and provided every assurance that the prescribed treatment was safe and effective.
I explained to ***** ******** that the treatment would have to be completed and that this would necessitate her giving the balance of the medication after taking possession of the puppy, but she did not respond in a rational manner. Keeping the puppy for the duration of the treatment regimen was not possible. ***** requested that I refund her deposit, I did as she wished and returned her deposit by certified mail. ***** replied with several texts, e.g., stating she still wanted the puppy, demanding that I pay her $500 for each vet visit, demanding to contact my vet, demanding that I sell her the puppy, threating and trying to coerce into meeting her demands, and leaving voice messages and texts that she was going to come to my house and get the puppy. Due to *****’s behavior, I was concerned for my safety and warned her not to come to my home or I would be forced to call the police and have her arrested for trespassing. ***** left a message that she would not come to my home, but would file a complaint with the BBB and AKC.
In summary, this is an unfortunate situation that could have been resolved if ***** had been more open minded and understanding, she chose instead to be threating, aggressive, uncooperative, and demanding. *****’s behavior confirmed to me that she lacks the character I am looking for in my puppy buyers. I will not do business with ***** in the future and do not owe her anything further. Based on the circumstances, I respectfully request that you withdraw this complaint from your system. Please advise if there is anything else you need from me.
Best Regards,

Thank you, for looking at my case. i was supposed to pick up the dog Sunday 8/7/22. Jana texted and said no. As you can see from the picture, she posted that night on Facebook.
My husband is a carpenter and I am a hospice nurse. She is changing the terms of the agreement on Friday, thru a work day where my patients are very ill. This has been very upsetting. waiting for 8 months, then say the dog is sick, won't give me the vet's name. i said i would pay $3,500 for a sick dog, and she refused. One interesting situation is Jana texted me a few weeks after the dog was born and she wanted a name with a x and I said Xena. Supposedly, the documents went to the AKC. Anyways, her name is posted Xerxera. Meaning she' had no intention of giving me the dog. I don't have the dog, and i don't have the deposit.i don't know if she is keeping the dog cause the litter was 2 males and 1 female, orif she got a better price. i was happy to give her cash and not any form of check. i am very disappointed in humanity.
Thank you, for all the work you do.Business response

Dear Better Business Bureau,
As stated in my initial response, I am a hobby breeder, not a corporation and I do not have any business partners.
Due to the prospective purchaser’s harassing behavior, I was concerned for my safety and the well being of the puppy.
The prospective purchaser requested a refund of her deposit. I promptly returned her deposit by certified mail and received confirmation that she has cashed the check.
In summary, this is an unfortunate situation that could have been resolved in a civil manner. Instead, the purchaser chose threating, aggressive, uncooperative, and demanding behavior. Based on the circumstances, I respectfully request that this complaint be withdrawn. Thank you.
