My daughter paid a $50 deposit to this school to start her driving lessons. Due to scheduling issues and the lack of flexibility with such, a different school was ultimately decided upon later. No services have been rendered from this school in any way. No in person classes, no driving, no instruction or service of any kind. When a refund was requested for the deposit based on these facts we were bluntly told that we signed a contract (contract stated that a refund is up to the schools discretion, not that there were no refunds). Business was rude to my teenage daughter on the phone and manager(assumed) told her and then me separately in person that it's not her problem and that we would not be getting that money back. We request that the $50 deposit be refunded to my daughter based on no services rendered.Business response

Emily called our office on November 10,2023 stating that she wanted a refund simply because she is going somewhere else due to the classes. We stated to her that as stated in our contract if our school is able and willing to offer the service we do not just give a refund.. Her father came into our office on November 27, 2023 again requesting a refund. We stated to him that again we do not just issue a refund if we are able to provide our services. I stated to *** ******* that we are able to transfer the money to the driving only portion if she decided to do an online class with another provider. He stated to me that they are going to a different driving school, the driving school he went to, because it was cheaper. I stated to him that that was their decision but per our agreement we would not issue a refund. I showed the contract to *** ******* and he confirmed and stated that he did sign the contract. As see on the attachment the agreement states that the school will not refund any tuition or any part of the tuition if D&D Driving School Inc is ready, willing, and able to fulfill its part of the agreement. We are still willing to fulfill any services and transfer the funds to any other student.

I am rejecting this response because:
What the business is unwilling to understand and admit to is that both my daughter and I also stated the lack of professionalism and customer service as being one of the reasons we decided to go to another company. We do not accept their response to this complaint and expect the $50 to be returned to my daughter's card. We have zero intention of using their services now or anytime in the future. If the business is willing to return the $50 to my daughter then we will retract this complaint and remove negative reviews. The fact that the business has made it go to this point over $50 is more than enough indication to me the kind of business they are.

My daughter completed all the required driving classes on March 20, 2022 and when we called to schedule for her test they could not find the paperwork that I filled out online with a payment of $50. They sent me a self addressed envelope to resend her information and I also sent a check for $390 to pay off the balance. I waited a couple weeks and didn't hear back so I called. They did not have her paperwork nor did they process/receive the check. The check has not cleared so I have no idea where it is and when we have emailed them, I get no response. I don't know if I should stop payment on the check.Business response

Hello I apologize for any inconvenience. I have currently on file her enrollment form final test and answer sheet and an initial payment of 50 dollars. She is on the waitlist for driving. What address did you send the payment?

Complaint: ********I sent the check in a self addressed envelope from D and D, I do not remember the address that D and D had on the envelope. If the check is not found, I will assume it got thrown in the trash?

Ms. ***** submitted a payment online on January 22,2022 and it has been in our system since that date. Ms. ***** stated in an email that they did mail it into our office which we responded with sending her daughter the zoom classes. When she called in we made her aware that we never received the first agreement document like Ms. ***** stated. We did receive the second agreement form back that we sent her however we never received a check from Ms. *****. We did state that to her when she called and talked to our office on the phone. If we receive a check we write a receipt, mail the customer receipt to their address, and deposit the check. We apologize for never receiving the check in the mail.
