I contracted electrician **** ****** in mid October 2023 and four months later, he still never came to finish my electric and has ghosted me on calls and texts for weeks...At this point, I will never let him step foot in my house again and I had to do the electrical work on my own...He lied to me and told me he was done with the upstairs in January and told me he finished the main floor in late January...When I arrived, I realized there was no work done in the upstairs bathroom, and there was no power in three of the downstairs rooms (dining room, den, and bathroom)....**** is a liar who takes money from clients to fund himself and then has to get new work to continue funding himself, while never finishing the work...I estimate he stole $1500 worth of work from me that was never finished, and I paid him $7500 out of $8000 (I insisted on holding $500 because he was supposed to hang all of the light fixtures and put outlet covers on in every room, which also becomes my cost and effort now)...I gave him numerous opportunities to make it right and have hundreds of texts to prove it, but he is not a stand-up guy, just a good talker, a liar, and a thief...It has been over 4 months since we signed our agreement and he has shown up one day in the past 6 weeks... I consulted an attorney who noted that it would cost a lot to sue him and I would likely not collect and I know there is no way to collect if I went the small claims route...All I can do is post bad reviews online in hopes that people check into him and stop him from doing this to others...No matter what, he will never step foot inside my home again and I don't plan to ever speak with him again in any capacity...Note that I had to hire someone else to do the gas work, as I had 5 leaks and couldn't wait any longer.

      Business response

      03/06/2024

      [[BBB transcription via phone call]]

The business stated they were in the hospital, very sick and had informed the consumer of this. The last day they were on the job they had finished everything they could before getting sick from being in the cold house. The work agreed upon was all done. There are still tools in the home that belongs to the business and the consumer still has a balance due for insulation and lights. The work involving the drywall, other than the bathrooms, could have been completed. The business believes the consumer filed a complaint because they could not reach the business. The business could not respond due to being sick and in the hospital. This was explained to all of their consumers. The consumer tried to get the businesses license revoked and was unsuccessful. The business was in the hospital sick. There is nothing on the business record that indicates they do not complete their work or do their job. The business could not sent anyone out to do the work under their license or insurance as they would not be covered and it is a dangerous field. The business would have completed any necessary work upon recovery and also told the consumer they would be in contact when they were able to being again. The consumer did not allow them to do so.

      Customer response

      03/06/2024

I am rejecting this response because: The business had 4 months to complete the job and lied and said it was finished 7 weeks ago and took all payments except $500 (I paid $7500 cash already) that was for hanging all light fixtures in the house. Before he got sick he was ghosting me and being very unresponsive. Getting sick after all that delay I sn’t an excuse. I spent 2 days finishing work that Temple was supposed to do, just to get power to multiple rooms on the main floor and have multiple witnesses that saw that the electrical work was 33% incomplete. The downstairs bathroom still has no power and upstairs bathroom was partially done. I expect $1200 restitution and Temple will never be allowed on my property again as he had more than ample time to complete our contract. Unless I receive a partial refund I will not communicate with him ever again.
