BAIT and SWITCH: Macys in *********, **********: I opened a Macys account because I was told Id get 30% off whatever I purchased today & tomorrow. 2 out of 3 departments honored the discount & deducted 30% off the bill. The 3rd department, where I wanted to purchase a very expensive item, refused to deduct the 30%, instead said Id see it when I got my bill but I still had to sign for the higher price if I purchased it. The customer service manger was called, & I told her other departments honored the policy, but she continued to say its in the mail. I refused to purchase the item. Bait and switch is bad business & against the law. Ive opened Macys accounts in the past, & never had a problem with them honoring the day of opening a credit card account discount.Review from Yousef A

Convinced to open a card and told I would get 20% off all purchases which will be reflected on the statement. Did not receive the promised discounted price and when I reached out to customer service I was given an attitude told it was my fault for opening the card. Terrible customer service and a classic bait and switch scheme.Review from ANNA Z

There is a good reason why the company has lost its favorability with customers. The beautiful Macys and Bloomingdales in the early 2000s are no longer a thing. I ordered a product online and it was a painstaking process. I contact Customer Service to make a price match before and after the purchase. I was assured before that they would price-match it. After the purchase, I was told a different story. So after spending 2-3 hours contacting customer support, placing the order, and driving to get the order, contact customer support - I am told to return the order because they cannot price match it. It was truly the biggest waste of my time. I will never shop a Bloomingdale when ********* is right next door. Never had an issue with ********* or **** ***** Ave. I think their biggest issue is their team of customer service agents. It seems that after COVID, they will employ any agent that will lie to the customers with false promises. Maybe they were trained that way because I could be a customer who is too lazy to return it and that is a sale. The next time I step into a Bloomingdales is to return the item. I will avoid Macys at all cost knowing that it is associated with them.Review from Brenda W

I bought shoes from Macy's, although they were in a box marked a size 9, the shoes were actually 8 1/2. Called to get a way to return the shoes so they can send me the right size but l am still waiting for the email. As a matter of fact l never received an email to confirm anything. Every time l call customer service they say it will take 24 to 48 hr. I am STILL WAITING FOR THE FIRST EMAIL!Review from Avery D

First, I have been a Macy's shopper for many years, generally using my card around the holidays. However, Macy's has been increasing credit card interest rates beyond any other retailer's rates. This is the epitome of gouging consumers for profit. The current rate is 34.49%. That is more than half of my lowest credit card interest rate. Second, how in the world does a minimum payment increase month over month? I spoke with several representatives that failed to provide an answer that made any sense. Macy's is robbing consumers!!! Finally, Macy's telephone customer service is absolutely horrible. It takes almost 5 minutes to get in touch with a human. The computer prompting is awful. You have to repeat yourself several times. The system will not allow you to connect with a human without going through several ridiculous prompts. It is incredibly frustrating! Plus, you CANNOT ever talk with someone in management. NO manager/supervisor is ever available!!! And, they DO NOT call back. I think they believe you will forget. The in-store personnel have always been great, But, Macy's credit services IS robbing consumers! Your system would not let me leave a "0" star rating.Review from Lisa C

I have now received used products twice from macys.com, when I called yesterday, and being placed on hold numerous times a very sarcastic manager got on a call with me, told me I was confused and to basically be quiet. After my hour and a half on the phone I have no idea if the items were removed from my card. I spoke with 4 people and the last was beyond rude. This time i received used makeup. First time used shoes, I now understand why they are closing stores all the time.Review from Lisa B

I was trying to get insurance for my furniture through ******* ***********, and it was quite an experience. After two tries, I finally connected to a live person at the insurance company. I gave her my details, and she put me on hold for a long time. I heard some rings like I was being transferred, and then suddenly, I could hear kids in the background and even someone asking if anyone wanted to see the master bedroomjust chaos. I was yelling 'hello,' but no one ***********, I called ****** back while still having them on speaker( using my husband's phone) so they could hear the craziness. The funny thing is, the ****** *** said the same thing happened to him when he called for a customerhe even heard chickens in the background! I'm not sure I want to add this insurance for my furniture. Also, after doing more research and reading the reviews, a vast majority state it is a scam or worthless. I also noticed WORRY NO MORE was once on ****** and is currently unavailable. I definitely would not recommend it,Review from tracy l

I don't even know where to begin... but I had always been a huge fan of Macy's and Bloomingdale's. Have shopped here for years with families and friends and always recommended them for their impeccable selection, services, and sales. However, the recent event have left a very sour taste in my mouth. I placed an order on September 4th for 3 items for $600. I used my Bloomingdale's e-gift card that I earned for this purchase. Unfortunately one of the item was cancel due to out of stock so I received an email saying the item won't be charged. Fast forward a week, the balance is still missing from my gift card (about $250). I reached out to customer service and was told that the refund can take up to 10 business days. I gave them a month and still no refund. I reached back out to customer service and was directed to the gift card center for the missing refund. After several calls, I finally reached someone who confirm that someone dropped the ball on refund and they'll process it right away and I should get my refund in 10 days. I was told they'll mail me a new gift card to which I specifically ask them to just email it to me because I do not want the off-chance of it going missing and I have to call back to chase them. I was placed on a brief hold before the representative came back to tell me yes we will do the egiftcard. 2 weeks passed since then and I have YET to receive an email for the egiftcard. I called back today and after a lengthy hour long call, the representative told me my giftcard balance is $0 and that I had used it on some misc items ship NOT TO MYSELF. So what happened was Bloomingdale's still sent me a physical gift card AFTER I requested and was PROMISED an egift card. Said card was then STOLEN and USED. Now i have to file a claim with them and wait 30-60 days just for a REPLY, not a resolution. I am left completely speechless for the level of incompetency I have encounter in this whole experience. This is embarrassing. The people working is a jokeReview from william D
