On May 10, my credit card was charged $16.25 for one month's bill for the Delaware Gazette. On May 11th I cancelled the newspaper by phone; I was told that I had a credit of $21.89 and a check would be mailed to me in 6 to 8 weeks. On July 17, I called Circulation and talked to Jeanne again and was told the check would come in two weeks. On Aug 10, I called again and was told to wait two more weeks, and call back on August 28. On August 28, I called again and was told they will call me back. On 9/1 I called customer service and Jay said a check had been issued 7/10, but he would call me back; he never did. On 9/7, I talked to ***** in Customer Service and she said the order for the check was submitted on 7/10, and it would take 4-8 weeks for it to be mailed out from Texas. TODAY I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE CHECK AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN 8 WEEKS ON SEPT. 4th! Today is Sept. 7th.

      Attention:  ******** *

Your complaint was assigned ID ********.

I received your letter dated 9/17/23 stating the case was closed and that Aim did not respond to your notice.

Today I received a check in the mail for $ 21.89. So, the case is PAID IN FULL!

But I do not know why they took over 5 months to send the refund.  I notice that the check is dated 9/22/23; on the phone they kept telling me that it was sent in July.

      Thanks for your help.

For decades we have been getting the local Early Bird paper. It gives events and activities for Darke County, grocery adds and important information. They deliver for all the local towns - motor route- New Madison, Union City, Arcanum, Bradford and they did do West Manchester. Now they dont do West M. We live in Darke County, *******. They deliver right around us. I called and asked why we didnt get the paper anymore and was told "you're not going to" I asked why and was told because the editor said so. I feel we are now being discriminated against while all other Darke Co. areas get this important informative paper we aren't allowed to have this privilege, very unfair. No reason was given why.

Business Response /* (1000, 15, 2022/02/21) */ The complaint is in reference to the Early Bird. This is a FREE distribution newspaper we deliver by independent contract carrier in many parts of Darke County. Distribution is not an address specific but rather geography based and is set up to closely "mirror" postal delivery routes. Due to the newspaper being free to the reader, we depend on advertising to fund the product. If we do not have enough advertisers wanting to market in that area, or if we cannot find affordable carriers to deliver in that area, we will not deliver to that area. We do offer a paid newspaper product, the Daily Advocate, that contains even more news and advertising. Subscribing to that product will insure that they receive the Darke County news and advertising they are looking for.
