Elite roof and restoration came out and replaced the shingles on my house, my garage in my carport, 6 years ago. They use the wrong material on my carport, should have been either roll roofing material or rubber roof, they use dimensional shingles. My car port is a 1 and 12 pitch which requires certain attention. Rubber or roll roof is the only thing to be used on roof with such low pitch.2 months ago my carport started to collapse, started to fall so I propped it up with 2 by 4 material so it wouldn't collapse all the way to the ground. I called elite roof and told them that they need to come out and repair my carport Because of using the wrong material to start with. They came out and looked at it and after a couple of days today said that they would Fix it. 3 weeks later they come out and they replace my roof material but they didn't address any of the rot or the collapsing carport they just put their new material in place of the wrong material that they had put on 6 years ago. I question them on it why are they not replacing the wood before they replace the roof and was told that they will get it. They finish the roof and then they leve. I contacted them 3 weeks later asking when they're gonna come out and finish. **** which is their project organizer, Said that they would replace a facial board which I told him there's a lot more damage than just a facial board that my carport is collapsing. After several days I started to do the project myself and fix my carport. Wild while doing the demo I took pictures and showed **** I sent him a picture of the carport how bad it was and he said he would send someone out later in the week. I told him I already started the demo and had picked up some Of the supplies, And I would do the repair and he can reimburse me. He agreed and told me to save my receipts. the project is over after 2 weekends of work and he told me that he would only pay for the wood that I purchased. Here's the receipts

Mr. ********* failed to state in his complaint the most important issue here which is his warranty. He was out of his five year warranty which we discussed with him. In essence, Elite empathizes with his deterioration of his carport. Unfortunately when the roof was originally replaced Mr.********* was unhappy with the pitch and materials used and did not inform us. Elite tried our best to make sure our customer was happy with our service and helped Mr. ********* at our expense. We tore off the existing roof and replaced it with a rolled roof per his request. We had planned to return with our crew and attach the fascia boards however, he said that he was going to repair it and had already purchased some additional wood. We agreed to reimburse him for the wood. We never stated we would reimburse for any other services performed. The Carport was older. There was no evidence the rotted wood was a result of the shingles installed. It could have been a result of the gutters backing up or really anything else independent of the roof. Elite requested his receipts for the additional wood purchased and Elite would gladly reimburse him for it. Incidentally, he never supplied Elite with any receipts to date.

      Consumer’s Original Complaint:
Elite Roofing. put a roof on my house garage and carport 6 years ago. My carport is 1/12 pitch. It requires either rubber roof or rolled roofing material. They put on dimensional shingles instead and told me that was fine. Here we are 6 years later and my Carport rotted out and started collapsing.I contacted them and told them they used the wrong roof material and 3 weeks later they came out and replaced the roofing material but they didn't replace my damaged structure. They tell me that it was out of warranty which is 5 years. I told him they used the wrong material and that should have nothing to do with warranty for using the wrong stuff. My roof was in perfect shape prior to them putting The wrong material on there.3 weeks later they came out and Replaced the wrong material with the correct material but they did nothing to repair the riding wood on my car port. My car port was caving in and they got up here and replaced the roof while it was partially caved in period I had it propped up with 2 by 4s. They wasn't coming out to repair my wood damage. 3 weeks later I tell them they need to repair it and they told me that there's nothing wrong with it and there's only one board they would replace. I told them it was caving in. They put me off 3 more weeks with no repair so I started to repair myself. I told him I would save my receipts and they could reimburse me and they agreed to, then when I completed the job they wanted to select only certain things to to pay me back for. Now I'm getting as excuses and haven't been reimbursed. I have posted receipts and other complaints that they have not responded to nor have they contacted me I have posted receipts and other complaints that they have not responded to nor have they contacted me.

Elite Roofing and Restoration LLC inspected my roof and my neighbors roof for wind damage. They said that we had wind damage, so we started a claim with our insurance company. When the insurance company came out, they said it was not caused by any environmental impacts, but that it was vandalism. The inspector wrote a paper with pictures for our claim. This led to my insurance company following up with private investigators, whose engineering report also stated that it was done my vandalism.

After replacing the roof of *********’ next-door neighbor, we received a phone call from *********. He requested a FREE roof inspection. We inspected his roof and observed wind damage to his roof. In addition, he mentioned the builder of his house and the houses in his neighborhood were involved in a class action lawsuit due to improper installation of the roofs. ********* also mentioned his siding was coming off due to the wind. In regards to the desired settlement, we provided a FREE roof inspection and we did noy provide any other services.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: Elite Roofing and Restoration LLC did inspect my roof and told me it was due to wind damage. They inspected my neighbors roof, a few houses down, a week after mine. After an insurance claim was summitted to our insurance agencies, the insurance agencies sent adjustors to look at our homes in order to verify if there was wind damage. Both insurance agencies (different insurance companies) notified us that damages to our roof was not due to weather/wind damage. Both insurance companies reported that it was due to human made damages (vandalism). My insurance company then pursued further investigation by sending out an Engineer and a private investigator team. They also confirmed that the damages to my roof were man made (vandalism), and sent the report to my insurance company. My insurance company then closed my claim due to weather/wind and opened up a new claim for vandalism. A police office report was then filed, with pictures and the private investigating report.

Elite Roofing and Restoration LLC damaged my roof and caused me to need a new roof, which I then had to pay for and coordinate. I would be happy if Elite Roofing and Restoration would pay me back my deductible in order not to further escalate my concern with this fraudulent activity.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ******
