** Buyers Beware - Hidden Fees on Used Cars **I recently visited Derrow Shirkey **** with interest in a used car listed for $18,500. While the staff, including sales representative ******, were friendly and professional, I was disappointed by their questionable marketing tactics. ****** initially assured me that their listed prices were non-negotiable because they were already the best in the area. He even showed me a comparison stating that the car was priced second best within a 500-mile radius, which I appreciated at the time. However, when we proceeded to finalize the sale, I was shocked to find an unexpected $995 "Vehicle Prep" fee added to the total. Despite not being mentioned earlier in the process, I was told the fee was disclosed on their website. After expressing concern, they offered to lower the fee to $795, then to $495. This back-and-forth negotiation contradicted their earlier claim of no price flexibility, leaving me frustrated and distrustful of their sales practices. While the vehicle prices may seem competitive online, be prepared for hidden fees that arent disclosed upfront. If you choose to do business here, expect to pay an extra $995 on top of the listed price and be ready to negotiate fees, even if they claim they dont negotiate. I ultimately decided not to proceed with the purchase, as I couldnt feel comfortable doing business under these circumstances. I would not recommend Derrow Shirkey **** due to their lack of transparency and misleading sales tactics.Review from Bryant B

silverado "work truck" as they put it, paid twice what it was worth on deal, used yoyo sales practice to get deal worked out with bank later. when informed vehicle was disaster at first was ignored. check engine light was already on and I assumed it was a fixer upper but little did I know these guys have no shame and will sell literal junk that shouldve been sent to auction or junkyard. told bank financing deal i was not pleased with vehicle as apparently thats what they want you to tell them. bank then told dealership thy were not backing it. after driving off lot 3 more lights came on; engine, abs brake light, and traction control. when I had a chance to examine vehicle it had a cracked head gasket and yellow metal speckled sludge for oil, bad brakes that for a truck that size could injure someone not prepared for slowing down well ahead of time, extensive rust in frame, running boards rotted out and poor maintenance, extensive electrical issues and a battery that leaked. I put in a new serpentine belt, air filter, changed oil, cleaned inside that smelled like bad feet....these guys at derrow-shirkey are lazy and dont do pre vehicle inspection. they are selling as is junk and try to hurry the customer or make him wait... Im out over 600 dollars after getting my initial downpayment back minus 300 for the 2 weeks I had it. I had to work that deal out and get mad at my initial salesman who was uncooperative and willfully ignorant. dont go here if you dont want greedy money grubbers robbing you and covering up anything wrong with vehicle. they tried to keep my money by lying to me saying if vehicle was not back on lot by midnight police would be called. they said bank told them that. told bank and bank then had to give them a piece of their mind too for being the worst of the worst. all in all out money but couldve been worse on a 15k deal for junk. their website seems professional with 3,2,1 shirkey but dont be fooled by snakes in grass hiding behind new car dealer.Review from Michelle B

Avoid buying from this dealership. It is bad business and disappointing to the fullest extent. We bought a new **** Explorer and discovered within 24 hours that there was an attempt to cover up a bumper issue. The paint was chipping off, necessitating a full bumper replacement. The owner declined to cover the total cost, offering only a partial amount. This was not our fault. They sold us a vehicle with a visible issue and refused to address it fully. We have paid $2,200 to fix a car that supposedly had no issues and was new. We tried to exchange the car, but the dealership would not allow us to.Review from Angela B

Recently bought a van from them. Within 24 hours check engine light comes on. Dealership diagnoses the problem but them tells me the fee is 2344.89 but they are only willing to pay half. I paid this vehicle in full cash. A business should feel confident in selling a car and it being in good shape for more than 1 day. They could have offered my money back. Nothing. I was told I could go somewhere else. All the review in this page have similar issues. This is dirty business.Review from Mary G.

My 19 year old son made an appointment to purchase his first used car, at what he thought was a reputable dealer. He was coerced to purchase, what was supposed to be, a more reputable vehicle. The cost was double the original car he wanted to purchase. He was told by the salesman (and it was written in his contract) that the tire pressure issue along with the windshield crack would be repaired. My son got a loan, drove off the lot; and before he got home, the check engine light came on. I called the salesman and was told they would take care of these issues. Several trips to the dealer and still the same issues. The tires are still leaking air, and the check engine light is still on. My son is getting the run around with promises to fix the car, but the issues are still ongoing. We will be filing a complaint under the Ohio Advertisement and Sales of Motor Vehicles Rule along with The Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act. Fair Warning to Anyone purchasing a used car at a Dealer. Steer Clear Of This Dealer! They lie to get the sale and LIE after the sale! At Derrow Shirkey Ford Lincoln, “One Great Experience” = “We Lie and Take Your Money!”Review from JOHNJR L
