Eastern Sky Landscaping is overpriced and not to be trusted.  They spent a couple hours to install a dozen or so lights to illuminate our Victorian home at night.  This was done during daylight hours and they never came back during dark to check work.  Instead Chad gave my wife a wrench and said just adjust them if needed. When called on this Chad dropped by for a few minutes one evening after dark.  When it was pointed out to him that there were several areas of the wall that remained unlit and that wire to one of them was too short to properly place the light he said he would come back and take care of these.  But he never did.  When my wife talked to him on the phone about these issues Chad's response was, "My work is not guaranteed." We paid him in full and he has not completed the work he agreed to do.

Below is the email sent to *** *******

      Hi, ***,

This is Lindsey, the office manager for Eastern Sky Landscaping.

I just received the complaint you filed with the BBB and I’m rather confused as the last I heard from you was the attached email stating “we love it” then inquiring about adding more lights, at which point Chad came out and went over options/discussed any tweaks you may want to make.

Chad will come back out and move the light you mentioned was too short, if that would satisfy you.

I look forward to hearing from you.

      Thank you,

      Lindsey

The proposal was supposed to include lighting entire FRONT and EAST
SIDES of the house but the following areas are not properly lit:1.  High peak on west end of house.2.  Lower areas of main front porch are in complete shadow.3.  Windows above the small door to the left of main porch.4.  The oval window with the stained glass is not well lit.  Only middle and top thirds are lit.  The
lights were installed during daylight and he gave us a tool to make
adjustments as needed.  He visited at night briefly only after we
complained.and said he would take care of it. He never did. Nor did he
return calls or text messages.During a
phone call with my wife he stated, " MY WORK IS NOT GUARANTEED."  He
should inform people of that BEFORE he does the work.I
must insist on an itemized bill with receipts for hardware used to
justify a price \$3000.00 for an hour or 2 of work, 7 LED bulbs, and a
transformer with a light sensor switch. The proposal stated:"INSTALL
10 SOLID BRASS WITH ANTIQUE BRONZE FINISH LED UP LIGHTS ILLUMINATING
FRONT AND EAST SIDE OF THE HOUSE INCLUDING OUTDOOR TRANSFORMER WITH
PHOTOCELL AND TIMER."He also needs to
complete the work for which he was paid or give us a 20-25% refund.
Please note he shorted us 30% of lights (promised 10 and gave us 7).

I've attached the email we received from Mr. ******* on April 20th at 10:35am as well as our response, sent April 20th at 6:24pm. (2 pictures)

Mr. ******* was presented a proposal for 10 lights to be installed. Once he received the proposal, (which clearly outlines how many lights he would receive and the total amount it would cost) he hired our company to complete the work. After the installation was complete, he emailed saying "we love it" (previously attached) and mentioned they may want to add more lights. At that point, we called and scheduled a time to meet. During that phone call, there was never a complaint made. Chad went out (at night) and discussed what areas they would like to highlight. At that appointment, there was, again, no complaint made. In fact, Mr. & Mrs. ******* asked us to provide a proposal for additional work as well as additional lights. After that meeting, we presented them with a new proposal, another phone call was made to discuss the proposal that had been presented, and that was the last communication we had with them.

There was zero mention of a complaint. We never received another phone call (we never received a voicemail message, and we did not see any missed calls.) Our office phone does not receive text messages. If there were texts sent, there would be no way for us to receive them (they also should not have shown as being delivered)

We responded to Mr. *******'s initial complaint offering to move the light he claimed was too short. When he responded, he stated he would like a 10-15% refund at which point we offered $350.00 back, because, as always, we want our clients to be satisfied with the work they received. Mr. ******* never responded to that e-mail; however, he re-opened the case with BBB and is now claiming we never even installed all of the lights from the original proposal, and now demanding a 20-25% refund.

Mr. ******* has made multiple fraudulent/malicious claims about our company, and we will no longer be able to assist him any further. It is clear every attempt we make to try and appease him will be met with additional demands/new allegations.

WE SAID WE LOVED IT BUT ADDED SOME ADJUSTMENTS WERE NEEDED. SINCE CHAD INSTALLED IT DURING DAYLIGHT AND LEFT US A TOOL TO MAKE ANY NEEDED ADJUSTMENTS. WE INSISTED THAT HE COME OUT AT NIGHT TO FINISH WORK WE PAID FOR. HE CAME OUT AT NIGHT AND AGREED TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS THAT WERE NEEDED BUT NEVER CAME BACK TO DO THEM. I CALLED  HIM AND TEXTED HIM NUMEROUS TIMES BUT HE NEVER ANSWERED OR RETURNED CALLS OR TEXTS.  I SUSPECT HE BLOCKED MY PHONE NUMBER.

CHAD SAID IT ALL WHEN HE SAID "THERE IS NO GUARANTEE ON MY WORK".  I WILL ACCEPT THE OFFER IN FORM OF MAILED CHECK.

I WILL FORGIVE THE WOMAN WHO SENT THE EMAIL.  I WAS AN ENGLISH MAJOR IN COLLEGE WHICH OBVIOUSLY SHE WAS NOT AS SHE CLEARLY DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE MEANINGS OF THE WORDS "FRAUDULENT" AND "MALICIOUS".  IF SHE DOES NOT OWN A DICTIONARY SHE CAN LOOK UP MEANINGS ONLINE.

IF I DO NOT GET AN APOLOGY I SHALL PURSUE THIS FURTHER WITH ONLINE REVIEWS AND, IF NECESSARY, LEGAL ACTION.

WE ACCEPT THE OFFER OF $350.00 REFUND
