Trees were uprooted that sat on top of my creek in August and August 31, company came out . Cut the trees. They knew when bidding on this job that they would probably spring ,their company could do this. Trees ended up springing up and landed bottom of creek , severely restricting the flow of water. I have tried to settle this with owner, he feels he has done all he should and I am now responsible for the removal .. his manager lied and said I showed him the roots, and also lied about work he did to try and resolve this issue . At no time did we walk up and look at the roots as you could not access that area and they need to show me where they cut the roots to help remove the root ball . There are no signs of a chain saw on those roots . .This is a huge bill as it will take an excavator to remove this, 2 years ago $3500 just to bring an excavator on the property . . His” we’ve tried everything is not acceptable” those roots were not in the creek at all , they never were . They are now at the bottom of a creek, jeopardizing property downstream of flooding as this creek goes over the banks several x a year. Response from company 81 days after they came into my property Hi ****, Dennis Tree Service was called for an emergency job because the trees were blown over, and as you showed me, the creek had washed the earth away from the bottom of the trees. But because we truly appreciate every customer and were not responsible for the horrible storm or no earth under the trees, you know we did try and help, we removed soil away from root ball with pressure washer, try to cut the root ball apart with chainsaws and bring a 50 ton crane to try and remove...unsuccessfully...was all at our company's expense which, I hope proves our dedication to customers. So I'm hating giving you bad news but that charge from xxxxxxx is a homeowners expense. I contacted his Insurance and they do not cover for screwups his company does that didn’t damage physical property .

Hi ****, we are sorry these trees blew down during that horrible storm.  The fallen trees were blown over and laying in your front yard, which were considered an act of God, because they were located at the edge of the creek bank they had, over time got under washed by the water flow and left no earth under them, which is why they blew over.  So even though we didn’t have anything to do with the situation of them falling, we do care about every customer so at our own expense we tried to remove the fallen root balls by multiple means and couldn’t but didn’t stop there.  We spent the time to put you in touch with someone who could help.  We treat every storm call as an emergency and were there right away to remove and cut up these trees but did not cause the trees to fall nor remove all the earth under them.  We are sorry this happened at your property, and we hope the company we put you in touch with resolves your dilemma and hope you do realize the amount of time and effort we put into this does show we went far above and beyond to help you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
As you said in your text , there was no way of stopping the tree from springing back into the creek. Than you should have refused the job and directed me to the other tree service that was capable of doing the job and getting it done right . You power washed the roots and brought a crane in and that was it . Future customers beware , if they screw up and it’s gonna cost them money, it will come out of your pocket not theirs .

All tree trunks need to be cut into fire wood size, not left laying all over my front Yard to “season” and split this fall.

Dear *******,  we did cut your wood into firewood peices and I'm sorry you aren't happy, but you had very large trees.  We did cut everything up in firewood peices.   There is no way to split wood that is still green and we could not be expected to split your wood, only cut up.

The following video link shows the extent of the debris and wood laying all over the yard. These are extremely heavy pieces and cannot be

moved. I do not understand how this is stacked wood, or how I am to keep my yard mowed or cleaned in this mess that was left. I have had trees and tree trunks removed and cut no matter that it is green wood. I am very upset with this service, not what we had discussed at all.

Dear *******,  we wanted to haul all your wood away, but you wanted us to leave all the wood from 3 trees and I did tell you it's a lot of wood and it would take up your whole yard, you told us it didn't matter you still wanted the wood.   I  gave you hundreds of dollars off and had crews spend a large amount of time cutting all that up.  As you know we did cut up your wood and it really is next to impossible to split green wood.    If you would rather have us haul that wood away, it will be an additional charge but we can send a crew with a dump truck and trailer and haul it away.    And please remember, I did tell you "that is going to be a large amount of wood "

It is not impossible to cut green wood as the 3 trees were all green wood because they were not dead trees. If they couldn’t be cut because they were green, then how did you cut them to begin with? The trees were supposed to be cut into manageable firewood pieces per our agreement. The trees were cut into large pieces where the trees fell and left strewn across my whole yard. They were supposed to be stacked into piles. I cannot even use a push mower to take care of my yard. I cannot even move these pieces as they are 100+ pounds each. Yes, I did want the wood as per our agreement, they were to be piled or stacked in the yard, not left strewn across the yard. My neighbors have been asking when you were coming back to finish the job and are shocked when I tell them that this was the end of it. I have never in my life seen a tree service leave such a mess on a yard, they usually will stack or pile the wood. I also have never had any tree service say they cannot cut the wood into firewood size because of it being too green. All I want or wanted was it to be cut into smaller manageable pieces, that can be moved. I cannot even roll them, because they are so heavy. I feel I was taken advantage of because I am a senior citizen.

Dennis Tree service was contracted to cut down and remove a tree from the back of my property on Nov. 24th 2021. The tree was cut down and a small portion of the wood was hauled away, the piece of equipment they needed to remove the remainder of the tree was broke and getting repaired. They told me they would be back when the equipment was repaired, they received payment in full before they left that day, which they received. since that time, they stopped back one time in the early part of Dec. 2021 and I spoke to **** ******* *owner) once this past June with the promise that they would show up at the end of the week to remove the remainder of the tree, no call, no show. since June I have left at least 20 phone messages to the business and ****** cell with no response. I have seen the company doing work around the area, the piece of equipment required to finish my job looks to be working just fine in other people's yards.

We hired Dennis Tree Service to remove a large tree from our backyard. The day we were scheduled for came and we were to Edie t them around 9 am. 9am came and went, 10am came and went, no call, no show. It took me all day of calling them to find out if they were coming and when. Eventually around 5 pm I got answer, they were not coming on their scheduled day but would get us on the schedule asap and I should hear back with a day and time. That never happened. The following day they just showed up. The crew worked for a few hours, did what we thought was a great job and got the tree down safely and quickly. The tree was so large that they were not able to take all the wood. The enormous trunk and several large limbs were left behind but we were assured someone would be by in the next few days to pick them up. In addition to paying for the wood to be hauled away, we also paid to have the stump removed. We were to expect a phone call about that being scheduled as well. Well, here we are 7 business days later, haven’t received a call AND cannot get them to answer their phones or texts. I should not be hunting down a company I hired and already paid to complete the job we signed a contract, to FINISH. We are now left with logs too big to pick up ourselves. So our options are to let them sit until Dennis Tree Service has time for us, hire and pay another company to remove them and do it ourselves. All while the logs are killing our grass. None of which are reasonable options. It’s frustrating they so quickly cashed a check but can’t return a call or text. In other reviews from customers in our exact situation, Dennis Tree service sited weather as the reason these people weren’t taken care of as promised. I can assure you, the sunny, 80 degree days aren’t the problem in our case.

In December we recieved a quote from Dennis Tree Service in the amount of $2,900.00 to remove several trees, brush, and little spplings from our back yard. This is a new home in a new development, and these need removed so the buider can bring in more dirt to raise and grade the back of our home at the same time they do the other homes. On January 7th, they came and cut down most of the trees and removed some of the brush and sapplings, but the truck theyuse for the larger logs was broke down, so they would be back possibly Saturday, but for sure Monday/Tuesday. They never showed, and after several phone calls, which included having to leave messages, and a few actual conversations, they finally had a person here on March 1st, when they removed a few logs, but it was to muddy after the rain we had for the machine they use to get all the logs, and **** ********, they owner was here and seen the bad job that the first crew did. After more phone calls, they had another crew out on March 17th. They finished cutting down the trees, and removed the majority of the rest of the brush, and they would be back to get the logs. On Sunday, March 27, two people showed up to remove the logs, but again it was to muddy because of the rain we had the previous two days. They also broke the drain pipe for our sump pump at this time. On Monday Seth **** that a full crew would beout Wednesday, and remove the logs without trying to get the machine in that area. This is now Thursday, March 31st, and there is still no sign of his crew, and has not returned my phone calls. In the mean time, the builder has been bringing dirt into another area of our deveoplment, which means they should be bringing ours pretty soon, but I still have these logs in the way. I did make the mistake of giving the a check for the full amount of $2,900.00 when they were here the first time on January 7th. I need these logs out now, our a refund of $1,400.00, for only half of the job completed/replacing the pipe.

Thank you for contacting BBB. I have spoken with **** and as you stated because this is a new development with no grass and an unusual high amount of rain it's been difficult to get so far back to remove. Please feel free to contact me directly at ***** ********-mobile# And as soon as we get a little drier weather we will contact you so you know as well. *****-****** Tree Service ??
