Hired to provide and install carpet. The employee or contractor wrecked our house in the process. The individual was reckless and needed help. He should not have been working alone. We had our newly renovated upstairs completely finished aside from carpet and closet door needing to be adjusted. We now have scars and damage all over the walls and trim. We will now need to touch up drywall with mud and paint all over. The trim also needs touched up all over. The individual took little care to not try and hit the walls, trim, doors and it shows. The worst part was our brand new washer and dryer. When bringing in the carpet the individual dragged carpet across the top or the washer and dryer scratching them deeply. This is all very upsetting because my wife and I had a a lot of time and money in it. The upstairs renovation was over $10,000 before the carpet install. The washer and dryer were on backorder for over 8 months and cost us over $1500 as a pair. The carpet store sent us a bill after 2 months of the work being completed for $1900. The agreed amount was $2084.36. They wrote on the bill apologizing and reduced the invoice to $1900. In my opinion given the bad labor of install and the amount of work it will take us to fix it I shouldn’t have to pay labor at all. We will easily have over 40 hours of work each to try and touch everything up. Still trying to figure out how we are supposed to touch up the trim with out getting putty and paint all over the carpet. Debated taking the trim out and refinishing it but that will take even more time and money.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:
They already cashed my check… If they really wanted to do something about it they should call me. I should hire a contractor and bill them for the repairs.
I will never be a repeat costumer and will tell everyone I know to avoid this business.

They did not call. It appears they are satisfied that they have a unhappy customer. I just want to be done with this. We will never use them again and will always recommend people to go elsewhere.
