      Business response

      09/20/2024

Our firm was initially contacted by the complainants brother (due to be acquainted for over 20 years)
and she “wanted someone she can trust” (per client statement upon initial introduction). She
explained what services she needed, a quote was given, the work was performed, invoice submitted
and paid, inspection from Ashtabula County Building Department was completed and approved for
utility connection. The work consisted of installing a new electrical breaker enclosure, new exterior
metering etc.. The existing box in the house is to be retrofitted at another time, (funding ??).

Approximately a month later, ******** contacted Harmon Electric (a second time and recent) to extend
all the circuitry in the existing panel (in the basement), to the new panel we installed previously
(located on the first floor). The client was given an estimate and agreed. The extensions were
completed. The client asked if once the extensions were complete, we could turn on all the circuits
and test accessible outlets/switches/lights to verify if the “old house wiring” was in working condition.
We stated we could test the outlets with an outlet tester, test the light by turning on the switch etc, and
if ANY issue was discovered, a list containing all the issues to troubleshoot could be written so as to
allow an estimate of the amount of time it might take to conduct the tests, once the issue is
discovered, a quote for materials and time to repair. Once the work was completed, all circuits were
turned on. Upon testing, the technicians encountered what they thought were existing wiring issues,
whereupon, it was discovered that the local utility (***** ******) had an outage affecting several
blocks, thereby, unable to see if we encountered any issues with the existing electrical in this aged
home (most likely a century home), and informed the client of such. The client was instructed to try
when the utility is restored, (turn on the light switch, plug in something in the outlets) and if they
encountered issues, to reach out and an appointment can be created. Upon completion, an invoice
for the quoted amount was submitted to the client, in which the client signed as attesting to the
satisfactory completion of the work and paid the invoice by cash. Again, after our second project for
this client at the same address, she reached out to state they had come across some issues and
would like to hire us to troubleshoot the items they have discovered, we inquired as to what type/kind
of issues (so as to get a scope of the amount of time to allot and type of testing equipment). We had
only a few openings but did not align with the clients,(they requested an arrival time of 3:30 due to
husbands schedule), which unfortunately we were unable to accommodate. We were informed by the
clients brother that she has stated our firm was paid monies and did not complete the work, which as
you can see per her signature on the most recent invoice, is incorrect. We also see that a “post” on
our “review” states the same. Per legal advise, this appears to be liable/slander on Patricia Gilbert.
Our firm has been in business for over 34 years, have an impeccable relationship and record with the
      local inspectors.

Each project Harmon Electric LLC was hired to perform by this individual , was conducted, completed
in entirety, and signed and paid in full by the client.

A quick personal note. I am a retired paramedic, state EMS instructor, advanced cardiac life support
instructor. I have never treated people/patients/clients/students with such contempt.
