I had seen Dr ********* for back pain and TMJ x7visits, he did several xrays prior for my back pain, I had received a call from ****** receptionist several oaths ago stating that the insurance needed additional information to cover it, I had never received a follow up call after that and never received a statement. I called the office today asking for the xrays/medical information action to be faxed over to sandusky wellness center as I'm having severe back pain. They said that they would not release my health information because I have a balance of $317. I made a $40 payment today as i was u aware of the balance i haf. They stated that they sent over a statement x2 to my house and said they combined my statement qith my husband's, let them know that I do not get into my husband's mail to know if anything was sent over and that we are to be billed separately. Dr ********* stated that he will not pay for extra postage to send the statements separately and expected me to get the statement with my husband's name on it with combined account. He was very short and unprofessional and said he has the right to withhold my health information if I have a balance in my account. I do not feel that any of this was handled correctly and now I'm looking at having to pay for xrays again somewhere else to get treated because he wont release me or anyone else my information. I do not believe he has the right to withhold my information action due to a balanceCustomer response

Allied chiropractic (dr ****** *********), he did end up sending my medical records as requested, I believe there is an outstanding bill that has not been paid through insurance and I had requested they send me all the statements and insurance paid amount and they have not done thisBusiness response

[BBB transcription via phone call with the business]
Business stated the consumer was sent three statements addressed to both her and her husband. EOB's from the consumer's insurance were also sent that stated what was owed. Consumer was told she has a balance and has agreed to pay $40.00 a month until paid off. The business also stated they never told the consumer they were unable to send her records. A release needs to be received in order to send, in accordance with laws and regulations. One the release was received the business sent the requested records. Consumer requested the disk the business has to be mailed. The business is unable to mail the disk but told the consumer they would make a copy for the consumer to pick up. The consumer has not been back to the business in order to pick up the copy of the disk.
