      On May 2017 I dropped off a black ******************************************* my name for transmission repairs. At the time I was residing in *************. The transmission got fixed but then I had to set up a payment plan with the shop. However I had a series of events happening that caused me not to keep up with the payments, then I had to relocate to the East Coast, in **************. On July 2021 when I contacted the shop they said that the minivan was being stored there and I had to pay them and have the vehicle removed from their premises. On March this year I went to the shop to inquire about the **** Aerostar so that I could settle any payments /storage fees. The person kept telling me that they dont have the **** Aerostar minivan with them, that it could have been impounded. So I checked with the ****************************** as well as the Columbus impound lot; they explained that they did not have any records of my vehicle being impounded/ towed. Im submitting this complaint because I dont see and title transfer on my end, as I check with the Ohio BMV.

      The vehicle was impounded years ago with over $20k in storage fees.

      Shop is not responsible for vehicle abandoned 7 years with no contact from customer.

      I am rejecting this response because: 

         The business has not stated/explained on what happened to my vehicle - the black **** Aerostar with Ohio plates GGZ6602. 
        I checked with the police departments of ************ & ******** and they dont have any records of my vehicle being impounded/towed.

      I originally dropped my car off November 2nd 2022 I was told the engine was getting replaced it would be ready November 112022 I called Friday November 11,2022 numerous times no answer finally talk to someone they said they wasn’t sure if it would be done then called later they said Monday which was November 14 2022 I called Monday they said the person working on car was on lunch I called them Back left me on hold for 45 mins came back to the phone and said car won’t be ready for a couple more days I proceeded to ask what is a couple days worker said maybe Friday he said the person working on the car has never worked on my type of car which is a Chevy equinox this was the manager I was speaking to there was no updates with my warranty company I was originally told the work of putting the engine is would only take 14 hours

      The complaint filed 11-15 was picked up and invoiced on 11-16.
      The customer in question had a warranty company, with multiple steps involved between diagnostic, parts ordering, and certifying the used engine being used. The vehicle has since been picked up and signed for, but if the customer wishes things to be done faster I advise them to speak with their warranty company.
      Please see the attached Invoice from AAMCO.
