I contracted to have a window well installed in my home by Quality Waterproofing (QW), with work performed over the 24th and 25th of October, 2023. I paid for the work in full on October 26th. As part of the work plan, they were supposed to return two weeks later to address anticipated settling of the ground and other outstanding issues. November 30. Contacted QW about no follow-up work, nor was there any quality assurance inspection. I sent photo of a large gap at the between the top of the installed window and the hole cut for the window. I sent additional photos as the hole in the ground widened as the earth collapsed around the edges. Although the gap in the top of the window was sealed, as of May 3d, 2024, despite numerous requests and scheduled work, the earthwork remains un-done. Requests and scheduled work includes 3 work dates cancelled due to weather, on two work dates, workmen arrived on site but determined that they did not have the resources to do the work, and on two scheduled work dates, no one came to the house. In each failure to perform the work, there was a delay of one to three weeks before the unfinished work could be rescheduled. I have a complete timeline of my interaction with QW, photos, and all relevant email communication.

We apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused.  We understand your frustration and weather permitting we will be out on May  28th to fix the dirt that is on site.

I never received a notification that there was a message for me from the BBB, dated 20 May. I only received email notifications on May 3d 2024, acknowledging receipt of my complaint and today, May 31st.

As a result, I was unprepared and not home when Quality Waterproofing arrived on May 28th (as they had not contacted me, either.)

Regardless, the work was completed to my satisfaction.

We had a leak in our basement and Quality Waterproofing was hired to stop the leak by filling in the cracks. This appears to have worked. When leaving, the employee dropped a container of the urethane epoxy onto my driveway, leaving a large stain (about an 8 inch oval) that was amber in color and stood out. I had to contact the company (mainly **** ****) several times and it took over a week for someone to come out. They chiseled away a portion but it still stood out. I just paid a professional contractor $250 to power scrub the stain. It did little to the stain, but it now stands out even more as my driveway is back to white. I will not do business again with a company that cares little about customer service and has little integrity when they make a mistake. I'd like them to come back out with a cleaning agent that will remove the epoxy stain or to pay for an industrial power scrubber.

I am rejecting this response because: They came out 4/10 to seal the leak. That was the day the worker dropped the compound on my driveway. After calling them 7 times they came out 4/23 and scraped most of the hardened compound off. I then left 3 messages on **** ****'s phone and never heard back. I just had it professionally scrubbed ($250) and the picture attached shows the stain is even more prominent as the rest of the driveway is cleaner. If theyhave experience with the compound I would hope they have experience cleaning it. I am not satisfied.

      Sincerely,

      ****** *****

I needed waterproofing service at Recovery Works Healing Center. We discovered some water leaking into the lower level. **** **** the owner came to the center provided a bid was shown the area discussed the work. The business demanded an initial payment of 1/3 of the $17,000 bid at signing then canceled the initial work start day it was several weeks later showed up late and was not prepared to perform the job. They came out and tore up an area of concrete and realized it was over the electrical room. Which **** **** was here and knew this prior to job start. They stopped the work. Even though they knew that needed a structural engineer to come out at this point demanded another payment of 1/3. They finally eventually came to complete the job and the lower level bathroom was taken out and sat this way for weeks. Per their contract they indicated would return everything to as close to its original form as possible. They left a destroyed lower level with ceilings out, a bathroom improperly restored, and a negligent waterproofing job that still was leaking. I asked them to meet and they would not come so at this point in time I had to go hire a professional competent company to return my location to operatable status. **** **** was negligent in his duties as presented himself as an expert in his field. He toured the building and then managed to damage more than was fixed and he received 2/3 of the original bid and the job wasn't completed, nor did I trust this company to complete the job because based on my experience they were incapable of that.

Quality Waterproofing went out at the end of Jan 2022 and met with ****** ******* at that time we provided an estimate 101672.  This estimate was rejected, and a new bid was sent ******.  Bid # ****** was accepted on Feb 2nd.  At the time of our first & second estimate there was no mention of there being an electrical room underneath the sidewalk that was to be removed, nor was there any mention that the work was to be performed AFTER normal hours of Quality Waterproofing. Quality Waterproofing attempted to meet all of Mr. ******'s demands after the contract was signed.

As per our contract, a deposit is due on all jobs over the amount of $2,500.00. It is unfair to say that we demanded payment. Mr. ****** signed our contract as was aware of the payment scheduled. Please refer to page 6 of our contract section 5.1 and page 3 of our estimate showing the breakdown of payment terms.

Our start date can and does change due to multiple reasons, please see page 9 number 25. Force Majeure

At the start of the job on Sat March 26th our crew arrived to remove the sidewalk, Upon jackhammering the area they found out that there was a void underneath, PLEASE refer to the pics sent, At this time we pulled our crew.

Again, there was no mention of there being an electrical room underneath the sidewalk. Quality Waterproofing only found this out during the demo.

If Mr. ****** felt that a structural engineer was needed, then this would be his responsibility to hire one

As per our contract on page 7 section 6.1 the area of repair will be returned as close to its original condition as possible.

Mr. **** spoke with Mr. Conifer on multiple occasions however his demands were extreme, and we could not make all of his demands. Mr. **** is or was not negligent in his duties we provided what was on the original bid.

On May 2nd we were sent an email stating that Mr. ****** was ending relations with our company and that the concrete was not sealed (there is any mention of sealing the concrete in his bid).  At this point, we were informed that he had hired another company to complete the work and would be paying them the remaining portion of monies that were not advanced.

      No money will be refunded.

I am rejecting this response because:

Quality Waterproofing went out at the end of Jan 2022 and met with ****** ******* at that time we provided an estimate 101672.  This estimate was rejected, and a new bid was sent ******.  Bid # ****** was accepted on Feb 2nd.  At the time of our first & second estimate there was no mention of there being an electrical room underneath the sidewalk that was to be removed, nor was there any mention that the work was to be performed AFTER normal hours of Quality Waterproofing. Quality Waterproofing attempted to meet all of Mr. ******'s demands after the contract was signed.
**** was shown the entire area that was creating problems.  The electrical room was the main concern since water and electrical supply do not mix and create fires and other serious dangerous problems.  **** walked the building with ****** and stood in the electrical room and bathrooms.  The only way he could of viewed the water leakage was to be in that room.  It’s obvious to anyone if water is leaking into that room that maybe the area above the leak is where the concrete was that needed to be removed.  The engineer also indicated that he would of measured and seen that the concrete and area to be removed were above the electrical room.   **** is also lying about the work being done after hours and on weekends before the agreement was signed, he was informed that there could be no work during client hours for obvious reasons.  He even joked and said jackhammering would interfere with counseling sessions.  So for **** to deny seeing the electrical room is just another blatant lie and then if he didn’t know there was an electrical room which is utterly impossible it even proves more negligence and incompetence.
The minute the contract was signed I had someone calling to come to pick up the deposit.  I’m sure this is their practice so when they mess up a job the only way to get their money back is to go to court.  I have never hired another company in 35-plus years that sends an employee runner to get a check that quick.   I also have never had a company even after they did zero work and were nowhere near fixing the issue want 2/3 of their money.  I’m sure this is this company’s normal mode of operations based on further research into them.  **** knew they messed up and still believed he deserved paid.
The structural engineer was bought in by me after seeing the utter lack of professionalism and concern that Quality and **** could perform the work they were hired to do.
The start date was changed due to last-minute surgeries and mother-sick conversations.  The actual start date was supposed to be a Saturday (the last start date where the company dug a hole above the electrical room) and at the last minute was moved to Sunday.  To minimize the collection of money, the leaking of water into an electrical room as a normal operation also speaks volumes to this company.  The crew didn’t have a clue where they were working when they showed up an hour late because they “had to get gas” that day.
To keep stating there is no mention of the electrical room means that **** was negligent and didn’t come to the building to write the bid.  This is a blatant outright lie.   He admitted he made a mistake to multiple people when meeting the engineer and ******* ****** at the building.
I will show photos and a video of the condition of the building.  The video shows after Qualities repair and it is obvious after their repair because the bracing is up that the building is being flooded with water.  Therefore the relationship ended and had to seek a real waterproofing company to complete the job.

      Sincerely,

      ******* ******

Have actual multple videos that show the true negligently preformed so called work, will not upload here. the 4 pics are only a small sampling of the destruction brought on my building by this company.  Water on ground pouring into buiilding worse than before, take look for yourselves.

Date: 11/29/2021 // Cost: $2200 // Job: Installing a sump pump ---- Quality waterproofing was contracted to install a sump pump as part of the contract for purchasing my new home. The sump pump was installed on 11/29 but there were multiple issues after the installation: They cemented the sump-pump lid to the floor, so removing it actually broke the surrounding concrete surrounding the pump They repaired cracks in the floor, but left the resin messy, unsanded and unfinished preventing me from putting furniture back level as there remains a "bump" in the floor. When they dug down and replaced the downspout tee outside they left it below grade so I cannot backfill with dirt - forcing water into my foundation. They agreed to fix these issues but have since missed two deadlines that they were scheduled to come out and fix. Since have been unresponsive returning my calls. It's been 18 days since the word was done and I still can't put my house in order as a result.

When I was gathering quotes for a waterproofing job in April and May of this year, I made the mistake of asking the question "do you handle concrete" ? The owner of the company, **** ****, said "yes we do". I accepted their offer for a 4 ' x 21 ' sidewalk on the same rear wall where the waterproofing was performed. After two delays, (one because of rain) the sidewalk was constructed on 7/31 utilizing 76 bags of Sakrete using a portable mixer. I kept hearing that it takes 6-8 weeks to "cure", which might alleviate some of the indentations and markings in the concrete. After that amount of time it did not appear like a "quality" product at all, and I had paid "in full" the balance of the invoice on 8/2. Customer service said to send them pictures. I took 4 photos of the worst areas and attached them to an E-mail. The next step was to remove the inferior product and replace it with new. The company delayed me until the end of September, and then again until the end of October. The owner, **** ****, didn't come down to take a look at the concrete until early October. His impression at that time was "it is garbage" , but failed to resolve the problem or elevate it to emergency status. On November 5, a crew of 3 QWP employees came to remove the "garbage" slab, with my understanding that new concrete would be laid within 3-4 days. One of the young women in customer service also had these same thoughts. It didn't happen. My wife is correct, in that I should have left the bad concrete in place until we were certain of getting replacement material. But nothing is certain. I have now not only lost my money, but do not have a sidewalk to stand on. About a week later on November 11, I received a phone call from customer service indicating that our concrete was ready to pour, and would be completed on Saturday, November 13. No-one showed up all day. Because their office is closed on Saturday, I left a voice mail message with **** ****. No response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2021/12/16) */ Contact Name and Title: *** ****** Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: ******@qwod.co Quality Waterproofing stands behind all of their work and we are prepared to do finish the job when the weather permits. Unfortunately there were some issues with completing the job. Please note that we did pour the new concrete however it rained shortly afterwards. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2021/12/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) No, I do NOT accept Quality Waterproofing's response because their service regarding the concrete sidewalk is no longer needed. At the end of November, an E-mail was sent to them along with a full copy of the complaint. At that time it was explained that we were moving in a different direction because we could no longer wait for a replacement from them. Since that time a contract was reached with a local cement company and the job was completed in two days. One thing that would now be appreciated from Quality Waterproofing is a refund for the cost of the concrete, or at least half of that amount. Let it be known that it took 3 months before the damaged sidewalk was removed Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2021/12/29) */ I need to know the amount that Mr. ******* is asking for so I can speak to the owner about this. Please let me knit ASAP Consumer Response /* (4200, 14, 2021/12/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) We will accept this as finish/cleared up as soon as we are able to get some money returned to us for the concrete work that was done correctly that we had another contractor do it. If he is able to return us some of the money or all for the concrete work, we would like it by certified check or money order. Thank you so much. Business Response /* (4000, 23, 2022/02/03) */ We are working towards solving this issue as soon as possible. Currently, we are waiting for customers to sign on for the work that has been estimated. Once that happens we will be able to settle with Mr. *******. Consumer Response /* (4200, 25, 2022/02/04) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) We were going to say yes because of the answer but just with the problems with them we will use the word no because of the past they saying something and it never happens. It didn't surprise me of their answer because that is what we thought that they are having money and work issues. Business Response /* (4000, 29, 2022/03/01) */ Quality Waterproofing will write a check to Mr ******* in the amount of $1,100.00 On March 21st and send in the US Mail Consumer Response /* (2000, 31, 2022/03/02) */ I accept the response of Quality Waterproofing and consider it to be satisfactory. I look forward to receiving a check in the amount of $1,100.00 toward the end of March. Upon receiving this check, which I would prefer to be CERTIFIED, complaint XXXXXXXX can be marked for closure. Sincerely, ******* *******
