I hired Hardcore Concrete to fix cracks in my patio. He came out and said he could do this easily by grinding the cracks bigger, than filling them with a caulk that would last forever. He sent a proposal and I agreed so he did the service and I paid him for it. This was completed in the fall of 2021. By spring of 2022, most of the caulk he installed was broken out or lifted up and coming out. I called and asked for them to fix it and ***** said he'd have to do it later in the spring. I responded several times asking when this would be done with no answer. I then asked if he could just refund half the money I paid him and he never responded to that. He will not respond to me at all. At this point since all the work he performed has failed, I would like a full refund as I have to do it myself to fix it.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

His job didn’t even make it 6 months. He didn’t even come look at it to see what is wrong. He won’t return calls or offer a solution. His work is not good. More work was to be done but since his original job didn’t last 5-6 months, why would I have him to more work? I’d like my money back!

      Sincerely,

      **** *******

The business owner informed BBB that he discussed and gave a price to the consumer for crack repair, recoloring, and resealing the concrete.  The cost of the job was approximately $12,000 and was intended for better weather in the springtime.  The consumer was concerned about some of the larger cracks becoming more pronounced during the winter and didn't want to wait until spring.  The business cautioned about doing the work at that time.  However, the consumer was insistent, so the business addressed the larger cracks and only charged the consumer $1500. Later, the consumer complained about the caulking.  Grinding down cracks on stamped concrete without recoloring and resealing would make the areas more noticeable.  The consumer does not want the business to do the repair work as originally discussed.  Even if the work was done, it would not fix the real problem with the concrete.  There is a void under it, so replacing the concrete and then regular maintenance is the only way to fully address the problem.  The consumer does not wish to pay the $75,000 to $80,000 to replace the concrete.  The business feels the consumer was charged appropriately for the work that was completed and does not feel a refund is due at this time.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Only one small part of this response is true. However, my main objective here is to not let anyone else be fooled into using Hardcore Concrete. He claims to do a lot of work for **** Doyle homes. I spoke with **** Doyle and he said he has never heard of ***** or Hardcore Concrete.

He also never warned me of filling the cracks in the fall, and that if he did, they may not last till spring. As he stated, I was going to have him finish my whole patio, but if the work he did didn't make it 4 months, why would I have him do more work? I am not going to go back on forth with this with a he said / he said, I just want people to know that Hardcore Concrete does not stand by their work, and then will blame the home owner if things don't last. I was expecting good workmanship and an honest explanation of the possible outcomes, and that was not given no matter what he claims here.

Please look for another concrete company when looking. This is not the one to use.

      Sincerely,

      **** *******
