I was approached by Mr. ****** about installing a motor in his 2002 Mazda 626. He stated his finances were limited so I suggested he purchase his own motor; I would install the used motor for $675. He contacted me shortly after the conversation and informed me he had bought a motor and that it would be delivered to my shop. When the motor arrived, after inspection I discovered the front of the motor had been burnt and no longer contained a front cover or timing belt. I immediately contacted Mr. ****** to inform him I could not install the motor in damaged condition, and he should contact the seller and ask for a different motor. I waited for a week, I called Mr. ****** again and asked what he was going to do with the damaged motor. He replied that the seller of the motor would not give him another one. I offered the solution of me installing a new timing belt and using the timing cover off of his old motor.for the price of the belt, gasket and an additional $85. He okayed the price and we preceded to install his used motor. We installed a used motor, new timing belt, cover gasket, ignition coils, all sensors and other related parts off of his old motor. When the job was completed, we called to let Mr ****** know his car was ready. He asked if we had done a tune-up and we said no that was not part of the installation if he had wanted a tune up, he needed to have brought his parts for us to do that. When hi picked up the car we showed him that all the indicator lights were now out and it ran smoothly. He then paid for the job and left very satisfied. He called a few days later and said the check engine light was back on. I asked for h im to bring it back down and that I would check it when I had the time. He became very irritate and told me that it should have had a tune-up. Again I informed him that installing new plugs and wires and other related tune-up parts are is not part of an installation unless he brings those parts for me to put on. I have done the job I was contracted and paid to do. He would not bring the car back for me to look at so I feel I've done all I can do>Initial Complaint

On March 8, 2023 we repaired the cylinder head, timing chain and all components on complaint's 2013 Chevy Equinox. This included the replacement of the valve comer gasket. One year later almost to the date, complaint called and said the valve cover was leaking. Ms. ***** brought the car down for us to look at. There was a excessive amount of oil around the top cover of the motor. It appeared that someone was trying to add oil to the motor and had missed. Ms. ***** was informed that in order for us to determine if the leak was coming from the valve cover, we would need to inspect the motor further. Ms. ***** didn't want to leave the car. She can call and make an appointment and we will gladly inspect the motor to determine where the leak is coming from.Customer response
