Built a wayne homes 2+ years ago. As of right now my house walls look like they are pokadotted. Do to nail pops that they fixed but never painted also needed drywall and trim repair do to a leak in the master shower. That has been since then left incomplete. They expressed the fact that there was a 2 year fit to finish warranty that as of aug1st has expired it has now been 3 months of emails and calls with no response. My suggestion spend extra and have a local builder build your home.. I would not recommend wayne homes to build my high school bullies house let alone a friend.Wayne Homes Response

My husband and I signed with Wayne home in 2022 a broke ground in December. Little did I know it was one of the worst decisions Ive ever made. To start our project manager was trained on the job and never had any experience or knowledge on how to coordinate a home build. We had specifically requested a masonary company not be schedule for our build. When it came time for our basement we were told that company was scheduled and we would have to wait months possibly to get another contractor. Thankfully we didnt have to wait that long and another crew was scheduled. I thought that problem was handled until our foundation started cracking from top to bottom and our basement wall on the east side started bowing in. Our project manager wasnt even sure if the tile was put in correctly. So later into our build the wall was getting worse and our basement walls started showing water. They finally got us a new project manger because it was one disaster after another and the man that was suppose to be overseeing the first project manager had never even stepped foot on our build site until they decide to dig up around the basement and check out the tile and see what the issue was. Shocking the tile all the way around the house was full of mud and the corner core of the basement was not poured litetrally another way for them to cut corners and try to save a buck. They then decided it was time to **** up the house and tear out the corner of the basement and replace 100 block. Did I mention they also forgot to cap off one of the pipes to the basement and it filled with about two inches of mud an water in the one side of the basement. When they cleaned that mess up it clogged the sump pump and it back flowed back into the basement causing a river to flow through. This was all taking place three weeks before we were told our home would be done. I have pictures and video to prove all of this. Of course at this rate we didnt move in until Sep when it was suppose to be July. Cont.Wayne Homes Response

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to our homeowner’s concerns. We regret that our homeowner feels that their concerns have not been addressed. After reviewing the company records and correspondence it appears we have resolved any and all issues that may have occurred during construction and we are currently partnering with the homeowner to work around their schedule for their open warranty items.
In an effort to ensure all items have been addressed, our local warranty manager will be reaching out to the homeowner to ensure there are not any unresolved issues.
We understand building a home can be stressful and at times daunting, which is why we pride ourselves in our excellent customer service ratings both during and after construction is complete.
Wayne Homes proud of its 50 years of experience in providing exemplary service and addressing issues and concerns when they arise.Review from Tessa S

They charge you premium prices for subpar products. We upgraded many items in our home build to only regret these choices and ultimately the company we have chosen to build our home. Any time I reach out to our project manager, he ends up not remembering to contact me back. I am very disappointed in our home and would never recommend Wayne homes to another person to build their home.Wayne Homes Response

Their customer warranty service/ field managers/ or whoever is in charge of making sure homes get completed is Horrible! We have been waiting for 3 years for them to finish the final touches on our house. We moved in, in the winter of 2020 with them promising to come back and finish painting on the outside and paint some things on the inside, replace a faucet in the spring of 2021. They sent a crew to replace a vanity and bathroom door (door was not painted before like they said it would be), and that was it. One of the few times a field manager was here he pointed out a crack in the foundation of the basement and was supposed to turn that in to get repaired, still waiting for that as well. I sent an email on 10-24-23, 11-8-23, 11-30-23, 1-8-24, and today to try to get them out here to get the house done, and still have not gotten anything scheduled or a response other than the customer care representative apologizing. I am absolutely stunned this is how they treat their customers!!Wayne Homes Response

Worst decision in my life to hire this company. The field managers are horrible, there is zero communication and they were 6 months behind schedule There is no accountability from anyone and the contractors are low budget bottom of the barrel employees with poor workmanship. The contractors run all over the field managers who do nothing. When you attempt to call their boss to get things addressed they give you the run around. When we closed they have us a walk thru and we set up a 30 day checklist for things to be done. It’s been 6 months and still waiting. Don’t sign with them. Once they get your money they will never come back and fix anything. It’s a complete scam to get your money and you are just along for the ride. The quality of the work in the home is horrible and it is impossible to get anyone to come out and fix it. The field manager blames it on the contractor. The contractor blames it on the field manager. The overall manager of the field manager doesn’t supervise anyone or hold anyone accountable. In my opinion this company is a hunch of crooks who fail to provide services and goods that you purchase and do not upheld their end of the bargain. Absolute worst mistake of my life and I would encourage nobody to even consider this company. I am currently seeking advice from legal counsel to attempt to get all the issues with my home addressed. This company cares nothing about you, the service they provide or anyone but themselves. I have had to call the Warranty department 3 times since moving in. They have not even called me back one time as of yet to address these issues and I do not forsee a phone call anytime soon. The more people at gay get the word out about this scam of a company and they will see down the road when there business folds from screwing everyone overWayne Homes Response

Wayne Homes built us a house in 2017 and what a mistake going with this company! Nothing but problems since day one of the build. The service door on the garage did not get moved in the prints, so they had to cut the foundation and move the door, so now there’s a smooth patch on the foundation instead of the brick look, all we got was a sorry. We had a broken truss they tried to scab together and our porch collapsed when the contractor was pouring it, causing one worker to fall in the hole so they had to cut the mesh to get his foot out. We had snow in our attic that melted in the spring, causing water running down our walls and into the basement. Our garage door blew in during construction because there was no soffit or cement poured in the garage and the wind blew around the door, causing it to suck in, and somehow I had to pay for the new one. I had to walk through the house and spray the word “nail” in blue paint on all the OSB that wasn’t nailed down. We still have squeaks throughout the house despite it being fixed two times, once by a contractor and once by me. In the summer of 2022 we had to move out for 6 weeks so they could tear the house apart and fix all the twisted and crooked walls. Snow came through a bedroom window this past winter, and we still have a dip in the roof that was supposed to get fixed, but the spot was bigger than originally thought so out came the level and tape measure to show that it falls in industry standards, so now it’s not getting fixed. I can’t believe any decent contractor would let a roof on a brand new house look like this, whether it was within industry standard or not. I stopped and checked on the house every day and found problems, but Wayne pushed forward anyway and everything I pointed out to our field supervisor turned into an argument. I hired a home inspector to look at the house and he found a lot of the problems I did (Highly recommend this). I have pictures of everything and am willing to share them.Wayne Homes Response

Thank you for allowing us to respond to our customers concerns. We do regretfully share concerns brought to our attention that did, in fact, not meet the standards weve set for ourselves. We have taken the opportunity to visit the home on numerous occasions over the past 5 years to inspect and address each concern that did not meet those standards. We intend to reach out to our homeowner again this week to review any outstanding warrantable items we are currently unaware of and to discuss those concerns. We look forward to speaking with our customer and working toward a solution.Review from Brent B

Wayne Homes was 4 months late on my project in 2019 (job ****). We moved in three days before Christmas as we had no other place to go (rental contract was up). The house is still to this date incomplete. Microwave/cabinets not hung, proper bathroom sinks not installed, surround on island not fixed. All items were shipped and are sitting in my garage. I have attempted to contact WH to get these installed and have received no contact back. I paid extra for the discharge line to be buried as part of the PPI and that has not been completed. If I could give Wayne Home a negative 10 rating I would! Horrible company and horrible communication / service. You trust them with one of the biggest purchases in your life and this is what you get. Incomplete and not up to par junk. Walls were painted with the cheapest white paint, doors were painted the incorrect color, amongst other details. I was never contacted for my two year warranty check as stated in the contract. Highly disgusted with the whole process and Wayne Homes.Wayne Homes Response

Wayne Homes handed us the keys to our home January 2022. I was working out of town during the build and since I built with Wayne Homes approx. 25 years previously with no problems, I trusted them. That was a big mistake, during the preconstruction meeting with the Wayne Homes construction foreman he recommended we move the side entrance garage to the left side of the house to save $4000.0 in addition cement block. My daughter and her husband were with us at this meeting and asked the foreman if you move the garage to that side will a retaining be needed. The Contruction Foreman seemed insulted. He said no retaining wall will be needed and also said he would never set up a house that would need one. Not only did I have to have an 8 ft, retaining wall but had to purchase 5ft by 150 ft from my neighbor's lot to have enough room to install the wall and be able to turn into my side entrance garage. Also, the elevation of my house was set too low, the garage floor is 3 feet lower than the street, so any water runs towards my house. I found out much later that the Wayne Homes construction Foreman that set the elevation and placement of my home was being treated with chemotherapy for stage 3 cancer. This mistake by Wayne Homes cost me over $80,000.00 and I had to get a second Morgage to pay for the wall and purchase of 5 ft by 150 ft from my neighbor.Wayne Homes Response

My wonderful experience with Wayne Homes. Moved into my home 8 and a half months ago then yesterday the platform leading the steps into my house from the garage collapsed on me. I was walking into the house when the platform fell and it caused me to twist my back. The platform completely came off the wall. There was no warning. One minute it was there then one minute it wasn't. My husband looked at it and discovered the only thing holding it up were nails nailed into the wall in front and nails nailed into the step in the back. If it weren't for the nails it would be floating in thin air. I guess we were lucky it lasted as long as it did. What kind of contractors would do such a thing? My husband and friend made legs to put under the platform in order to put it back up. Now I am in back pain and having trouble getting around thanks to their shoddy work.Wayne Homes Response

Thank you for allowing us to respond to our homeowners concerns. We were able to speak with our homeowner, as soon as we were made aware, to check on their health and sincerely apologize for the failure of the landing. We were able to setup an appointment that worked for the homeowner to correct the unexpected and unfortunate issue. We appreciate the homeowner reaching out to us to provide their feedback and allowing us to correct the issue. We work diligently to assure the safety of our construction methods and will analyze the causation to avoid further concerns.Review from Melissa B

Home is pretty but their warranty process is terrible. Have had issues and it seems to take an act of congress to get them to get crews out to fix them. Won't build another wayne home.Wayne Homes Response

Thank you for allowing us to respond. We regret our expected service response times were not up to our expectations over the last year as we recover from unprecedented material and labor shortages thru the pandemic. Weve taken steps over the last few months to internally address and provide the service and response times our homeowners deserve. The changes our team has made have greatly improved our response time as an example, the most recent service order our customer contacted us about was called in on 4/3/23 and was completed on 4/21/23. We will continue to improve and always strive to complete any outstanding issues within a reasonable amount of time.
