I hired the owner of said company in late October 2020 to reroof my home. State Farm approved repairs and issued money to my bank account as the first installment to pay. Since the weather was turning bad, we agreed for the work to be done the next year. On April 12, 2023, I wrote a check for the services with the insurance money, and I was told he would get to the job after the spring rains, possibly May. All 2023 passed, with no repairs. Early 2024, March/April, I contacted him to get my name on his list for this year. He promised he would get to me, and apologized for not getting it repaired last year. I did not hear from him all year. On September 17, 2024, I texted him and told him since he seemed to have no intention of doing the job, I wanted the money back. He said I slipped through the cracks and he would do the job before the end of October. I went to my insurance agent today and was told to file a police report, which I did today (10/23/2024). I also called the company's owner in the officer's presence and left a voicemail. This was on body cam. The officer told me i will probably have to take him to court to get the money back. Since 2 years has past since I hired him, the insurance company will not pay any more money. I want a refund, so I can possibly get a repair done!Customer response

Mr **** *****, representing *** ******* * ********** **** Official Roof, was paid the amount of $25,183.17 by personal check on May 23, 2024. He was contracted to replace our roof in June of 2024. The agreed upon date of June 20, 2024 was delayed by weather. Since then, he has failed to return my phone calls and my wife’s phone calls. He has also failed to answer text messages sent to *********************. We have several contact phone numbers, including *** *** ***** *** *** ***** *** *** *** ****.
