They had charged 2 late fees in one month without providing any notice. They had the bank account and credit card information to take the money out of the account. This was for automatic draft and not pay by person. There was no bill issued. I have requested to waive the late fees since it was not my fault but they refused.Initial Complaint

I called into the club at the beginning of the month to request cancellation of membership as I am pregnant and will not be using the gym for a while. The representative said to mail in a letter. I mailed in the letter yet was still charged for the month in question. I called to request that charge be remanded and the representative said that it will take place Monday. Then I received a subsequent call from a Megan telling me that I did not get my letter in on time that it was post dated for the 6/13, I would have needed to have it post dated for 6/10. It was dropped in the mail prior to that, and I was never informed of this date requirement over the phone when I called in about cancellation. I called Megan back to try and explain this, she told me to pull up my service agreement that I signed and that it would be there. She was rude and uncouth. I asked to speak with a corporate representative and she directed me to the internet and would not let me speak, talking over me in a nasty tone. My letter was dropped into the mailbox on Friday 6/10 to be mailed. We are now arguing over a 3 day weekend span. My last date of usage to this club was in May. I wish to be refunded the charge of 24.78 for the month of June. I had planned to come back after giving birth but I will now find another club since the business dealings from the leadership there is amateur and disrespectful.Business response

Attached is a copy of the member agreement and the cancellation letter sent by ******* ***********. Per the agreement, To cancel your monthly membership and stop the billing of the Monthly Membership Fee, the club must receive written notification from you delivered to the club by the 10th of the month either in person or preferably
via mail to the club address listed above. Please note it may take up to seven (7) business days for any membership or billing changes to take effect. In order to cancel your membership prior to the billing of the
Annual Membership Fee, the club requires written notice from you delivered as described above no later than the 25th of the month before such billing. The Annual Membership Fee is fully earned when received
and is non-refundable.Because the envelope is post dated for June 13, that is the date we go by in case we receive a letter after the 10th. The membership was cancelled and no future charges will be made. We will not be giving a refund because the membership was not cancelled before the 10th of the month.
