I purchased 24 blue scale quail eggs from Cleveland Quail on 4-22-23, having selected these breeder being much closer to Michigan it would have less postal travel and handling thus less chance of bad eggs being he doesn't guarantee anything. He assured me he had great success and hatching rate and ships all over. Well after waiting for eggs to be shipped, I finally get an email and tracking number...a number that showed eggs were shipped from some place in california. I expressed I wasn't happy with this, again he assured me eggs would be fine. So I immediately placed into incubator upon arrival and at 10 days in, I had used my candle light to ck the eggs for fertility and progress. 12 out of 25, being he shipped plus 1, was not fertile. I've had numerous emails with him, at one point he agreed to replace but then demanding I spend my money to ship rotten eggs back. I provided all 12 pics of numbered eggs and pics of same 12 candled eggs showing that wasn't fertile. I want either my eggs replaced or money back. I'm not happy with this cause no where on his website nor on the phone did he ever inform me eggs would be shipped from secondary location. It's misleading especially when your paying more for something that you thought was even closer to you. I'll provide my copy of ordering info and few pics of infertile eggs.Business response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I fully understand his regards as NO guarantee of hatchability of eggs. But having ordered and purchased eggs off from his cleveland ohio site and NO where does it state on his webpage that he may ship from an alternative location, i.e., such as california. If I wanted eggs ship clear across the country, thus risking even more of chance of eggs not surviving then I'd placed my order elsewhere far away, but, no I placed an order from Cleveland and expected eggs shipped out of cleveland thus having less handling and chances of not hatching. On top of as to many emails and verbally over the phone did he ever mention some other farm in california. It's misleading, unfair to a customer who's thinking your buying and shipping from Cleveland. He's also agreed to replace the eggs via email but wanted to cost me even more $$ to ship dead unfertile eggs back to him. I numbered the eggs, to photos of eggs/numbers and a pic of each and of each on the candle light showing at 10 days of incubation they wasn't fertile. He needs to either replace or refund for the 12 eggs and ship from Cleveland...if hes unable to ship from location I purchased from then refund half my money for the 12 bad eggs. I didn't ask for eggs to ship from california, thus risking even more potential of issues. His website is misleading by not stating he uses two shipping locations. He says he's never had complaints till me, well maybe it's just people felt it was useless to gripe or notify him back and who knows maybe he has had and just isn't truthful. Obvious, if I was in his business and I was shipping from alternative addresses/location then I'd make sure my customer was ok with an area clear across the USA. I wasn't happy and still am not happy...I'm attaching screenshot shots of multiple emails, even where he states he'll replace the eggs....
