I gave **** ****** of Top Choice Home Services a deposit of $1,000 on March 29th to limewash our exterior brick and paint our wood siding. The agreement was that the job would be done in June. Soon after, we decided we would be selling our house. I let **** know and asked if the timeline would still work with a listing date in late June. He said yes. In between then and now, I also hired him to hang new interior doors in the house. This was scheduled to be done on ?May 18th. The morning of, he texted me and said he had to reschedule. We agreed on May 25th. The morning of the 25th, he texted and said he again had to reschedule and now would just have to do the doors when he did the painting in June. I was a little ambivalent at this point because we were on a time crunch and needed this work done before our listing date. I questioned whether he would still get the job done on time. He assured me he would have the job done before the week of the 20th “100%”. I reached out on June 7th to make sure we were still on track to start painting the following week. On June 8th, he messaged me saying he had to completely cancel and would not be painting or hanging the interior doors. He stated he was mailing back my deposit of $1,000. On June 11 I asked if he had mailed the check and he said yes and that I would have it by the beginning of the following week. On June 16 I reached out again because I had not received the check. He stated he forgot and said he was mailing it that day. On June 18 I asked for confirmation that he mailed the check and received no response. I asked again on June 19 and received an extremely vague and unprofessional response. It’s now June 22 and I still have not received my deposit back.Customer response

On 6/24/22 I finally received a check in the mail.
