I rented 3 storage units from BlueBox storage that claim on their website that they are rodent and pest proof. I had lost my house last year and basically unloaded all my items from the house into these units. 2 units were locked since they were loaded, one was not locked but was only opened on occasion to add new items for the new house into. I spent $8000 last year on storage, so I opened them to see if I could minimize a unit. Every single item I own has been destroyed by mice. I called the company and their response is sorry and its your fault. I have now officially paid them $10,000, just to throw away over $20,000 worth of items. I lost my house and now have paid $10,000 to store garbage, which then I had to pay to dispose of. These are NOT rodent proof or pest proof. I never found a dead mouse, only live ones, which means they just came and went as they pleased. My neighbor next door has a different storage unit for the same amount of time and he has no mice issues with his.

On February 16th, 2021, The ****s rented 3 BlueBox portable storage containers to be delivered to their residence to store personal property on site. The ****s were utilizing the storage containers to assist with their home renovation. After using the containers at their property for 14 months, the ****s discovered rodent f**** in their containers on March 14th, 2022. Upon learning of the situation on March 14th 2022, I immediately called her to discuss the issue. After talking with Mrs. ***** I sent our BlueBox store manager, ******, to her property on that day to assess the situation. Upon opening her storage units, ****** immediately discovered that the ****s had hamster food, dog food and regular food inside the units (See photos). Although we claim our units to be rodent resident, we explicitly state in our lease agreements to not store any food inside the units. We make this statement in our lease agreements because when a unit gets delivered to someones property, there is no way of proving whether the customer leaves the door open or brings in the rodents from their own personal property, however, if there is no food or water in the unit the chances of the unit being able to habitat rodents is very slim. Furthermore, with the discovery of hamster food inside the ****s unit it then became unclear if the ****s own pet hamsters were the rodents that caused the damage or if it was outside mice that came into the units. Nonetheless, after learning of the food in the ****s units, I explained to Mrs. **** that because she had food in the unitsbreaking our lease agreement ruleswe cannot clearly determine whos fault it isour containers or your negligence. Though, we took it upon ourselves to voluntarily aid the ****s by providing them with a 4th unitfree of chargeto help them sort out their belongings. At this time, the ****s clearly did not suspect our containers to be faulty in the fact that they gladly accepted our offer of a 4th unit. Additionally, we refunded the ****s for the last month of the rental cost for all three original containers along with the 4th free container with no pick up or delivery fees. In all, we provided the ****s $1,171 in free services and refunds all in good faith and claiming no fault of own. The last time that I personally spoke with Mrs. **** we agreed that the matter was settled and that we were ending on good terms.

      Sincerely,
