On November 1, 2022, (11:34am -12:40pm), the team of two roofers had completed the work and departed from my residence. I was originally instructed that the work was going to take 4-5 hours. On November 8, 2022, I then received an updated invoice in which they added $150.00 vs. my original contract for replacing 5 additional slates (without talking to me prior to the additional work being performed), coming to a new total of $1601.00. Mid-November, talked with owner and he had operations manager come out to review work, only by use of binocular. On December 5, 2022, I received an updated invoice where Paul Wright Roofing removed the line item for the five additional slates that were replaced (in addition to the 20 they already replaced). Shortly after receiving this, I tried calling the company to understand what was observed during the work review at my property, but I did not receive a call back. On December 30, 2022, I received another email from Paul Wright Roofing for me to advise of the payment status of the invoice. After receiving this email, I replied by stating how I was uncomfortable paying the total remaining balance given that not all work was completed and the work that was completed was sub-par, to which I never received any communication back. On Friday, January 27, I received a certified letter from ***************, LLC, stating that they are representing Paul Wright Roofing in efforts to collect the overdue amount of $951.00. Further down in the letter, it states that I may contact them (***************, LLC) to arrange for payment of the amount due and if I did not, they would be compelled to file complaints with the appropriate Lehigh County District Court. At this point, I’ve called this firm 5 time, to which I am instructed that the lawyer handling this is in a meeting and will call me back, to which I have heard nothing. I do not plan to pay this and need help resolving the above mentioned dispute.Initial Complaint

The contract with Paul Wright Roofing was signed on Nov 22, 2021 for work on my roof and my neighbor's roof. Work commenced on 12/3/21 and finished on 12/4/21. I provided the contractor with a list of issues that affected both of our properties. Here is a list of the defects which were reported: • The vendor installed non-fire rated plywood on the roof where fire-rated plywood is required • The chimney was damaged during the performance of roof replacement • One ridge vent was improperly installed • Aluminum facia at multiple locations was damaged during removal of the original roof • Two vents were shingled over by the vendor and they did not follow company standards for installation In addition, the contractor was negligent in their responsibility to ensure the of me and my property. At the end of work on 12/3/21, the contractor left materials and tools on the roof even though a storm was forecast. That evening, shingles, hoses, underlayment, and a 4 1/2 lb roof rake fell off of my 2nd story roof. It took from 12/4/21 until 9/12/22 for the owner of the company, Paul Snellen, to agree to meet with me and my neighbor. The objective of the meeting was to come to agreement on repairs of the defects and damage to our properties and to agree on compensation for the poor quality work. Prior to this meeting, I reported on 9/6/22 that the roof was leaking and damaged my bedroom ceiling. We did not reach agreement on any issues. The owner, Paul S******, walked out of the meeting before anything was resolved. Just as important, he left my home without even investigating the source of the roof leak. On 9/20/22 to try and get to ***, I sent the contractor a written proposal where I conceded on all the items to be repaired and offered to pay full price. In response, the contractor sent my account to Collections. Repair/replacement of seams (front and back) between my new roof and the roof of the adjacent home (this is the source of the water leak)
