My mom purchased a memorial stone for my dad and herself on 10/23/2019. I was installed the following year in Robinson Run Cemetery. Our salesman had come to the house with several samples to look at, his name is Paul Unruh. the center picture of the stone is a rectangular cameo recessed. We were told at the time of order that this cameo with was of my Dad's antique blue pickup truck was indestructible, even if hit with a hammer for the life of the stone. Last year my daughter noticed a small crack in the corner. We contacted the monument company with no response. This year we noticed several more cracks through out the cameo. My daughter had called and emailed the company. Their response was to send a picture of the cracks. We e-mailed a picture. They responded with there will be a cost of almost $200 to come and remove the epoxy and reinstall it. After my mom had paid $754 for the cameo and over $3000 for the stone, I think that is unacceptable. Our whole family has purchased stones from this company for many many years. We hope there can be a resolution to this issue.Business response

I was very sorry to hear the photo on your mother’s flat monument was damaged in the cemetery. The photos we offer are typically made from porcelain and no one from our company would ever have suggested to you that porcelain could withstand a hammer strike. It is common for photos on flat markers to be damaged if cemetery personnel or outside contractors, operating vehicles or equipment in the cemetery, drive over the monument – all circumstances outside of our control. The product does of course carry a very nice warranty, should an unfortunate event like this occur. While we’ve never spoken with you directly about this matter, your daughter did reach out to us and we offered to replace the photo at no cost to your family. I’ve sent your daughter two emails since March 16th, 2023 trying to obtain the necessary authorization to proceed, but I have not received a response. Since your daughter has not responded perhaps you could call me directly so that we can proceed. As POA for your mother, we’ll need you to sign an authorization permitting us to perform work on the monument in the cemetery. My Name is Rory and I can be reached at ###-###-####.
