9/1/24 Hominy Ridge Cabins and Gift shop. They charged us an additional 100.00 on our credit card. We already paid them 506.00 for renting their cabin They charged us For falsely claiming we suds up their hot tub. Which was NOT the case. We were only in their hot tub for a few minutes and realized it was foaming and got out. Told them about it. And they charged us an additional 100.00 on my credit card. I looked at their reviews after this happened and they have done this to several people. They are horrible owners.

********, Good Morning! Thank you so much for reviewing our complaint. I just wanted to add that after I sent the complaint I started looking more online and seeing a lot of other  reviews from unhappy customers. We are NOT the only ones they have done this sort of thing to. A lot of people had this happen to them.

If we were in the wrong and did something I would honesty be like ok we caused this . But the reason I am so upset is because we did nothing wrong concerning their hot tub we followed their rules we were only in their tub for about 7 minutes. If that. It started filling up with suds before we even sat down . They have rules everywhere and we followed them exactly as they asked. Then to have this happen is so confusing and concerning. It’s almost like they put something in the hot tub in order to charge more money. I know that sounds way out there but we followed the rules!

We have travel for 33 years all over the place mostly to Gatinburg and Pigeon Forge Tennessee stayed in top of the line cabins with hot tubs and never ever had any issues never had owners act like these two treat their customers. We absolutely love Cook Forest and been going there for years too and never ever had any issues until meeting them. And like I said the reviews tell it all. They have done this to other customers. They are not nice people and not fair. I don’t understand how they are still in business. Like I said if this way our fault I would be ok with the extra 100 they charged us but I feel in my heart and soul and that we followed their rules and the hot tub suds up for some other reason.. we asked if maybe they need to check their chemicals they use because if the Ph balance is off it could cause this issue but they just laugh and say it’s our fault and we messed up their tub. We couldn’t have done anything wrong when we turned it on and as soon as we did the suds appeared I wish we would have video taped it.We hiked all day and came back to the cabin looking forward to soak in the tub on our muscles . We were so disappointed to see the bubbles immediately before we could even sit down. It almost feels like a set up. We are not the only people who feel that way . If you look at their reviews you can see the do this a lot.

Sorry for the long email but it’s just upsetting to be charged an extra 100 on our credit card when we honesty didn’t do anything wrong! And they won’t listen. They want to argue when I tried to explain it to them.

Please help in any way you can.

Thank you so much for your time.

The complainant is liable for the damages to the hot tub. We have attached all the necessary documents (included). Her husband admitted to pulling the tags from his brand new trunks and then getting into the tub. Brand new clothes have more soap in them than once their laundered. BUT ALL bathing suits new and old, washed or not are to be rinsed prior to getting into the tub. We not only had to change the water once but twice to remove all the suds. They are 100% at fault here and do not want to admit to their mistake. We know it was most likely thought of that if the trunks were new, they will be okay. This is never the case. They also stated to us that they were only in it for about 5-7 minutes. It only takes one second once the body and suits touch the water at 100* and full jets, to ruin the tub. I believe that once they realized the tub foamed up that they got out, but it was too late. We have her signature to our rules and policies and knew that there was a $250 hold on their card for such damages.

They owe us a public apology  and to be asked to remove all bad reviews and slander from everywhere they posted it.
