We hired Grovers Remodeling Services to finish our basement. They took twice as long as expected after asking us if they could start the project a week earlier than planned and they did not provide a quality job. They said they dont do carpeting in areas as big as ours but didnt plan ahead to hire a third party and did a poor job with the carpet install. There were many other issues we had to point out numerous times including a poor quality cabinet to cover the electrical panel and then adding a lock that they didn't even check - it didn't lock so we had to ask for a new lock. We asked for locks for the doors to the utility space and instead they added a lock to the closet which was supposed to be a kids toy closet where you would never want a lock. We had discussed the closet being a toy closet and then they charged us extra to finish the closet. There were also issues with the quality of the paint job, the banister, the quality of the drop ceiling and how much of a mess they left it like they were finished. The closet door and doors to the utility were sticking and tight in March and I told them it would probably get worse in the summer months so we called them when it happened. They came out and did a poor quality job, a completely uneven cut of the doors and when we expressed our displeasure, they have since stopped responding to us. They never finished fixing the doors and left them unpainted and now wont respond. We paid $39,532.80 for this to be completed and are very unhappy with their work and their lack of response when they provide a 1 year warranty in their contract.Customer response
