On the morning of July 8, Rick Monz Plumbing company came to our home to work on our hot water tank. The tank was installed by them on January 23 of 2023 so it was still fairly new. I was concerned that it wasnt holding hot water so I asked them to do a diagnostic for me. The gentleman that came over to work on the hot water tank and he thought he found an issue which was not the correct issue and without alerting me or getting approval to work further than a diagnostic, he continued to work and went outside to smoke a cigarette and accidentally released 100 gallons of water into our finished basement. Furthermore, he did not tell me I was upstairs with my baby and I heard somebody going through my garage personal items and found that he got my shop vac out to start soaking water up. He called his. **** came over to look at the damages. **** told me dont worry he will get somebody over to clean it up and dry it out and that we wouldnt need anything more done, I told him I needed his insurance information and that with the amount of water Underneath the floor that our flooring would be ripped out and the walls would be cut and it would need to be a full restoration. **** tried to go against this and say that its not that bad. Eight days later, we do not hear back from **** with his insurance company after asking five times we believe that he does not have insurance and wont file a claim because hes not insured. We had to pay $1000 deductible out of pocket to get Absolute restoration over here to begin the cleaning process and they have to completely rip out our entire basement. We have over $36,000 in damages and we need to be responsible and pay this deductible responsibility for the issue they caused, the plumbing companies we had come in to look at our hot water tank immediately questioned why this person even attempted to work on the hot water tank. They could tell right away that it was defective and needed to go back and be replacedBusiness response

Dec 13 2023: ****** called me about a hissing sound coming from his hot water tank, said he thinks he has a water pressure issue. Told him to test pressure. He tested and it was over 100 psi. Informed him that was 1.5 times the amount it should be, and advised him to get it checked by water authority. Water authority advised to install a pressure regulator and that was the last I heard about that.
Jan 21, 2024: Rodney contacted me about his kids throwing something down toilet. No word about the pressure regulator or hissing sound, just toilet, as he wanted advise on what to do.
July 5, 2024: ****** contacted me about hot water tank not having ample amount of hot water. Stated he had an electrician come to look at it and said it was a bad breaker. Electrician replaced the breaker.
July 8, 2024: I went over and replaced the heating element on the hot water tank. We had a little bit of water on the floor from the replacement of heating element; ****** helped the tech clean up the water on the floor. No water was on the floor when the tech left.July 9: I reached out asking if there was any issues, to which he replied working. My wife said that was the first hot shower she took in 3 weeks that the hot water lasted. Therefore, we corrected the problem that he asked us to. Also, he didnt mention anything about water issues on the floor.
July 14: ****** reached out about his basement having water on the floor. This would be 8 months after he mentioned having a hissing sound near his hot water tank. Also, knowing he had excessive water pressure in the house, and did not correct that issue.
Upon hearing about the water on the floor, I offered to send over a company to evaluate the situation, to which he declined, stating he was going to get his own company in and his own insurance.
In conclusion, we corrected the issue he asked us to fix. The electrician, nor us, saw any visible water around the hot water tank when we were doing the work there. Both the electrician and my tech would have noticed any pipes leaking, had they been leaking at that time.
