I purchased a ****** Electronic Mouse Trap (Model # ******) at ********** on 6/7/23 for the price of $24.97 + tax. That trap was able to kill one mouse. I cleaned the trap, reset the bait, and the bait was taken out of the trap multiple times without the mice being killed. I contacted the company, and they sent me out a replacement. I baited the trap, and the bait was removed multiple times without any kills. I contacted the company again and they sent me out another replacement. Again, the same scenario multiple bait removed, and no mice killed. I contacted the company and advised my displeasure. I even offered to send the trap back so their company could examine it. They stated that they don’t accept traps due to the health hazard. I then asked for either the next model up from my trap in hopes that it would work or a refund. The ****** representative spoke with her supervisor and advised me that because they had already sent me two replacement traps, they couldn’t send me another one. She advised me that if I provided them a copy of my receipt that would refund my money. I had since thrown the receipt away, so I had to return to **** ***** and have them look up my credit card for them to print me a receipt. I emailed the receipt to ****** for my return on 8/1/23. I was contacted yesterday by ****** and advised that they do not give refunds. I called them today and asked the representative for clarification after I was told to submit my receipt. She advised me that person gave me incorrect information. She advised me I should try to return the trap to **** ***** for a refund. I no longer have a box for the trap as this has been several weeks since I received my replacement from ******. I contacted **** *****, and they will not accept my return. At this point I just want my money back because it is clear at this point after three defective traps that this model of mouse trap is clearly defective.Initial Complaint

This corporation's sub-company, Perky Pets, manufactures bird feeders, of which I have purchased two (the Panorama model) in the last two years (purchased them NEW through ****** and *****) They are very robust feeders, made of metal, but they have a central plastic cylinder with teeth that connect it to the bottom. This plastic is NOT robust, and the teeth break or crack easily--both of mine broke or cracked just after a year. How handy--they break just after the one-year warranty! Who wants to buy a $25 bird feeder every year for a feeder that otherwise should last a decade! I have contacted the company twice, and they have CHOSEN not to offer replacement parts for this weak-link in this product. Sure seems like a way to keep selling new feeders frequently when they could easily solve the problem--offer replacements, or a novel idea--make a better plastic part!. They offer replacement parts for other feeders they have. I have noted online that there are other people who have complained about this to the company, but they got the same response I did. It doesn't seem they are interested in putting the customer first. They need a change in policy. In my pictures, one is just over two years old and all the teeth have lost their gripping edge, and the other one is brand new and broke right away when inserting the plastic cylinder.Initial Complaint

Purchased a part on Sunday, September 11th, using the exact part number from the part, and what the website automatically showed when part number was entered. The site automatically brings up the wrong part, as the correct part is not on the website. Called the customer support number to ask for a return label, as we do not have a computer connected to the internet. Was told that they could not help us because we had ordered the wrong product. When we asked to speak to a supervisor was told there were none there, and that they would not be there for several days. Website does not have the correct part available, website says that the item ordered from the site is not one of their products, and the return form is unavailable for you to print should you have access to the internet either.Initial Complaint

I bought two packages, for a total of 8, Plastic Pedal Mouse Traps, Model Number **** from *** Hardware in Macon, Georgia and after I put a dab of peanut butter on the bait part of the trap, the arm bar will not reach the plastic pedal to set the trap. Your traps are useless without bate. I am very frustrated. Why do you sell a product that doesn't work?Initial Complaint

On May 17, 2022, I purchased the ***** Brand Houseplant Sticky Stakes for $6.93 at *********** While these do work well, they don't give you enough of the traps to completely use their product. They give you 7 stakes that each hold 2 traps, so the stakes in the package would hold 14 traps. But, you only get 7 traps, which leaves you with 7 empty slots. You can only actually use 3.5 of those stakes. I tried to contact the company a few times with no response. I tried to leave a negative review on their site, which was never published for whatever reason. I don't understand how they are getting away with selling an incomplete product.Initial Complaint

About three year ago we purchased a ***************** to catch bugs on our 1/2 acre property. We paid $200 for the trap and it worked fine until it needed new bulbs which go dead about every 18 months. They suggest replacing sooner but the trap always caught tons of bugs, mostly millers, so it was not a problem, we paid for new bulbs when needed. This year, about one month into the bug season, the bulbs went out again so I purchased new bulbs but the new bulbs would not light. I verified they were good and decided it must be the ballast that starts the bulbs had gone bad. I called Woodsteam, makers of the trap, and requested information on replacing the ballast in the trap. I was told that the ballast is considered non-replaceable by them and if it goes bad you have to buy a new trap for another $250. I told them I would pay for the ballast if they would send me one, they said they do not sell them and there is no place they can refer me to in order to buy a new one, I have to buy a new trap. This demand by them that I buy a new trap would indicate to me that they intentionally manufacture the trap (probably all of their traps) to be limited life non-replaceable items so they have a guaranteed business forever, you have to buy their product or you got nothing. They are not satisfied with just selling bulbs every few months, they make it so you have to buy a whole new trap every few years. There is nothing wrong with the trap I have, the lights just don't come on which is the primary purpose of the trap. Required to function as advertised. They are cheating people and apparently look forward to cheating people has there was no hesitation in their response, buy a new trap..Customer response

Based on the text of the complaint there is NO request for warranty coverage of the item. The complaint is predicated on the fact that the merchant is selling a product that they know can not be fixed because they do NOT provide parts, nor does anyone else, required to repair the item. They are selling, to the deceit of the customer, a product with a life dictated by the ballast being functional, once it is not functional their product, thought otherwise fully functional can not be used. I guess you have to look past the fact that merchant can state a warranty and then, once pasted, be completely absolved of any responsibility for the usefulness of their very expensive products. If they state a 30 day warranty in the fine print does that make them any less responsible for providing parts after 30 days so their product can be repaired and thereby would have a reasonable life span? Not sure what your concern is, let me know and maybe I can clarify. Thanks. ...************************* ************
To your question, I would assume it is one year and that I would need proof of purchase to make it useful. Well past that.
