On April 8, 2022, I made a booking for a series of rides with Rideman Transportation. These included pickups at the train station and trips to two colleges for my daughter's interviews. I prepaid a total of $699.15 for all the rides. The most expensive was a four-hour roundtrip from Latrobe, PA to Grove City, PA. We were charged $400 plus $30 waiting time plus 15 percent tip. The $699.15 total was charged to my Mastercard. The first three rides (all local to Latrobe) were delivered. On April 12, I called Rideman and reminded the owner that we had to be in Grove City at 12:30 p.m. He said he would pick us up at Springhill Suites, our hotel in Latrobe, at 10:30 a.m. At 11:01, he had not arrived. I called him (all these call times are recorded on my cell phone). He said he was en route. At 11:15, he was still not there. I called and told him that I was going to get an Avis car at the Arnold Palmer Airport. He claimed he was late because of an employee health problem which had forced him and all of his drivers to be unavailable, but that he was on his way. I said we could not wait. At this point, it was already impossible to get to Grove City at 12:30. I had to call the college to tell them that we would be late. Imagine how devastating this was for my daughter. At 11:19, we were arriving at the airport, and he called. He texted me, saying that I had "canceled" on the same day, and that he was keeping my money. It is not "canceling" to find alternative transportation when a driver is 50 minutes late. I would like your help in getting my money refunded for the Grove City trip and for one on April 13 to the train station, for which we also prepaid. I was told at the hotel that this behavior by this owner is typical -- that "he never turns up," and that he kept one of them waiting for two hours one time. I have also filed a disputed payment claim with Citibank. I can provide witnesses and time-stamped phone records.Business response

The claimant paid 699.15 for a package deal of rides 3 of the 6 rides were done on the day in question I padded the trip and told her 10:30 am pick up she had a 1:30pm appointment for her daughter for pre college enrollment I explained to her I had a medical emergency with my driver and we had to retrieve her it took 3 of us I had to get her client home and the other 2 drivers retrieved her and the car one got her to medical attention and the got the car now the girl we had to go get drove this lady the day before and she never even asked if she was OK just yelled at me,I got there at 11:15 @ 11:10 she told me she was going to the airport to rent a car she would have got to grove city by 12:45 plenty of time to walk around before her 1:30 appointment she canceled made herself late out of anger! I have a policy cancel within 24hrs no refund however I did refund 250.00 The driver had pacemaker surgery and has made a full recovery thank you!Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The business owner is not telling the truth. In fact, he is lying, as he has done from the very start of this dispute. He did not "pad" the time to pick us up. I told him that we had to be in Grove City at 12:30, not 1:30. It was he who proposed the 10:30 a.m. pickup to get to Grove City in time for what I repeatedly told him was a 12:30 p.m. appointment. He and I spoke at 9:19 a.m. on the day of the incident, and he confirmed then that he would pick me up personally "in a brand new Ford Taurus." He said nothing whatsoever about a sick driver at that time, which was just around an hour before he had committed to arrive. He was then almost 50 minutes late to pick us up. By the time he was 45 minutes late, and I had realized he had made it entirely impossible for us to make the 12:30 appointment, I had to hire an Avis rental car. His $250.00 does not begin to compensate me for the financial and other problems he caused with his unprofessionalism. The three rides that he says were completed were five or ten minute local rides. What he owes me for is the entire cost of the four hour round trip that he (not I) cancelled by showing up almost an hour late. There are witnesses from the hotel in Latrobe (Springhill Suites) who can attest to what happened, and that the owner's account is untrue. I request that you continue to pursue this matter on my behalf.
