In November ******************************************* our home with Get Floored by Mark Henning. The flooring was purchased from ******* ******** (Please see Claim #********, submitted 4/13/22) and the steps from ****** ************ **** sent us to each of these places to purchase the materials. Each was purchased and paid separately for a total amount of $8,644.81. His son initially did the flooring installation and **** installed the steps. Upon completion there were a few minor issues and repairs that needed to be corrected - caulking on steps, some miscuts, drywall repair, etc. Before that was ever done, we noticed in December that the flooring was separating. **** came and looked and said that it would need to be removed and relaid. When they came to do the work in January, there were several other areas splitting also so he put a claim in w/******* ***** stating he thought there was a defect. Upon inspection, they concluded that there was installation error. **** returned and used cement to level and relay the dining room floor, it didn't work and the floor still split. He also used leveling cement in the living room, which failed and had to be taken out. My home has been ripped up like this since March 31st. In despair and desperation, we had another installer come and inspect the flooring. He agreed that there was installation error. There were improper undercuts, incorrect connections and also several connecting strips were damaged or missing. This was most likely due to improper installation process or a defect in the flooring?? He also stated that the flooring was not unlevel enough to cause this damage and noted that the cement placed under the flooring in the dining room would also have to be removed. The flooring is now damaged and unusable. We now need to have these repairs done to the drywall, floors and flooring removed and disposed of (while determining the best solution to correct the problem. I don't feel we should be held responsible.
