I signed a contract with Jason Buckner, owner of A Hand Up LLC, to perform a job of interior demolition on my 3-story commercial building located @ **** *********** **** *********** ** ****** The original quote/estimate for the work to be done was dated 8/18/2022 & signed by both parties. Demolition began Tue. 8/20/2022. The workers were late to arrive everyday but that was not an issue at first. On 8/24/2022, Jason informed me he would need an additional 2 dumpsters to haul away debris from the job (originally estimated the need for 2 dumpsters, which were filled & removed from site). I agreed to the additional cost of $1,700 including removal of studs (ceiling joists) from 1st floor to expose ceiling above. When Jason informed me the job was completed, he and I walked through the building. I pointed out several problems with the work, i.e., workers had removed the public water meter & water supply line/valves in the bathroom, in the basement &removed 1st floor bathroom fixtures, all without my authorization. I estimated the cost of repair to be approx. $500 & deducted that amount from my final payment of the invoice(s). I discovered a week later that the workers had also removed the power supply to the new furnace & the water supply line to the new water heater, both in the basement; and noticed new damage in the basement, from a rainstorm, i.e., plaster falling from the foundation walls, due to water behind the plaster. This was caused by the workers' failure to remove the loose plaster from the walls, before Drylock/painting, as contracted. Workers also failed to removed screws & nails from walls. I believe all was due to failure to communicate with workers. Jason was notified & said he would return to analyze & remedy the situation. After repeated attempts to get him to respond & return, by text & phone message, over the next month, Jason cut off communication & refused to return to the job site. Attached are 4 invoices, all of which were paid to A Hand Up LLC.
