Original Roof (Shingle for portion,. rolled roof for a small section) installation 2012. Issues starting within 2 years. First issue was a rolled down roof was installed that did not stick. Had them come back to repair.. Year 4 Roof shingles started to slide. Had a company come out that advised the roof was installed incorrectly. Improper nailing. Had Hickey come back to repair it. They arrived and asked who installed it. They did. So they repaired the roof and charged me $200 to fix the shingles. Every year since then, shingles have continued to slide. I have had multiple repairs done to the shingles. I have been patient with Joe, the job foreman. As he and I have tried to work out a solution. Having not heard from him for the last year, I have now resorted to filing a complain with the BBB hoping to get resolution.Business response

To whom it may concern,
In response to the mentioned complaint regarding ** **** ******* We have been in contact with the customer over the last 5 years or more regarding issues he has had with the quality of the work as well as the quality of the product. Each time ** ****** has contacted us regarding issues we have always responded and made appropriate repairs to the roof as needed. We recently had an arrangement in the works to install a new roof for ** ****** and we are hoping to fulfill that arrangement as soon as possible. We did not offer a warranty for the work at the date of completion for the original work, however we have been very responsive to his problems with shingles failing and various repairs.

In December 2021, Hickey roofing & Construction installed a new roof with attic vent fan at our home. The fan has never worked. In April 2022 we contacted them about it and they come to see it, confirmed that it was either broken when they installed it or it was installed incorrectly. They offered to replace it. Since then they haven’t set a time after numerous calls, texts and emails about the project. Without prompting said “we aren’t blowing you off…” and Suggested that my husband should replace it himself. Comparable work is being estimated at almost $1k for a fan that cost ~$200. We paid for a faulty fan and bad work and they are not taking responsibility for it. We would like them to refund the cost of the original fan and cover the cost of having another contractor replace it.Business response

We have since responded to and resolved the issue presented by the client. We went back to replace and fix every item she presented. It did take time because we had to go back out to the property multiple times for what we believed was a faulty fan/vent, but it turned out the electricity was not properly wired to the vent. This complaint was filed Aug 1st and the issues with the client were resolved Aug 12th. She confirmed via text everything was working and functioning properly.Customer response
