At approximately 2:20pm Sunday 12/4/22, I used the self checkout at Foodland on W. Chestnut St Washington PA, 15301. My total was 12.74 I put 20$ in the machine and was supposed to receive 7.26 in change. The machine only gave me 2.26. The store refused to open the machine to see if my money was stuck. And now claiming that an audit shows it didn’t keep my money, which it did. The audit was supposed to take a few days according to them and now not even 24 hours later they claim it’s fine. I want my money back.Business response

I received your complaint with the Better Business Bureau last week for an incident that occurred on Sunday 12/4/22. I sincerely apologize for any confusion we may have caused with regard to the problems you encountered with our self-checkout register. We did full physical audit of the machine the following morning and it did balance even. I have enclosed our balancing sheet showing the cash count by the office manager. Regardless of our findings, we have enclosed a $25 Visa gift card to compensate for any inconvenience we may have caused you.
